Is it really false? DaFins posted some good info on this subject. The average AV through the first five seasons from a player with the 50th pick is 9.7. HERE are players that have an AV of 10 through their first five seasons. Now the 102nd player drafted has an average of 5 AV through their first five NFL seasons. HERE are players that have had an AV of 5 through their first five seasons. Certainly there are exceptions to the rule, but looking at the average player you can expect, I would agree that its unlikely around that point.
Makes sense ... higher drafted players are given 1st shot opportunities correlating to higher AV's. Better talent evaluators prob gets more 10 AV's with players drafted after 102. Wonder where I can find where Ireland ranks?
