Patrick Turner fading away: http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...er-fading-away-miami-dolphins-talking-points/
Im a little surprised, things started out looking real good, and sounding promising for Turner, now its Hartline getting all the playing time and attention. Hell, I didn't even know Turner was even on the field against the Bucs. I sure didn't see him if he was. Hopefully he steps it up though, we could definately use a guy with his size.
I really think it's much ado about nothing. We've played 3 (and a 4th this week) teams that we are going to see in the regular season. I don't think our coaching staff really wants to show them much of anything or give the other teams anything to scout against.. Our coaches know what our players can do, and that's all that matters.
If Turner has 6 catches for 80 yards and a TD against the Saints, the press will be talking about how he should start week 1 opposite Ginn. Fickle, fickle, fickle. He's a rookie... so let's not freak out that the guy didn't have a catch in a preseason game. It's going to take more than 6 weeks for him to learn how to play WR in the NFL, and there's no telling where he will be, progress-wise, one year from now. He's practically a lock to make the team. Let's have a little patience with the guy.
Could not agree more. Hilliard had people talking about trading Ricky and now most don't even have him making the team. Welcome to the NFL..one week a Hero...the next a bust.
Same thing with Anthony Armstrong. I remember Armando writing in his blog about how fast and impressive he looked in camp. Gone.
I think its coming up because Hartline has done so well. If Hartline was not here, than I think it would be a non issue. In fact Hartline is having an outstanding preseason. The guy is going to be our version of Steve Tasker, big plays on offense and special teams and an overall pest.
I think by so many pumping Turner up early...expectations did not meet reality. Of course he makes this team and I believe will be able to contribute.
Turner is a rookie, not all football starters are instant rookie success'es. He may just need a little time to develop into what we hope he is. I have a feeling they will find a way to use his height in the red zone this year. I can still remember when a lot of people were questioning the Hartline draft pick and some were outright negative about Hartlines selection. Lets give our rookies a little time before we start being negative about them, after all the coaches and staff have shown what they do with players who are not productive through Willford.
Guys guys guys. THE SEASON HAVENT'T EVEN STARTED YET. He went from being nobody, to an all pro, to a bust in waht, 3 preseason games?
Is this article serious? There was a typo in his "football for dummies book." Instead of waiting 3 years for draft picks and especially wide receivers, it said 3 preseason games.
Well he did better than I thought he would. I thought he would be cut and that Hartline would at least make the team playing ST.
