That's Dick, not White. White is black. And that's from rookie camp.

Padre, a piece of that 20% jersey sales could even convince me to change my opinion of White...LOL

Nah, I look at it this way, rarely does a leopard really change his spots. Perhaps RW is one of the only players I can say have, but when it comes to having the 'it' factor to successfully transform a college career into a pro career, I just haven't seen it from White. Not in potential, not in progress. I know it's only been one season and on top of learning the proset QB position he also had to learn to be an NFL pro. That takes time and he's had little of that. But most players at least show something
by this time in their career, at least a higher profile position like QB or WCxQB...we haven't seen even those shreds of light from White....yet.

While I totally understand your position, and agree with aspects of it, Padre, the bolded statement invites heavy rebuttal.

    We all saw him struggle.

Them's just the facts. I agree, however, that too many of us have thrown him to the wolves prematurely.

He did the limbo below even modest expectations. Hitting golf carts? I don;t know, Padre. There was some excitement and I think if Pat had fallen significantly short we could live with it, but be disappointed. This was him shocking us with how little he could do at this point.

In the purest sense, though, you are right. As KB pointed put, Pat was ill-prepared to transition easily to the NFL. Our expectations SHOULD have been low.

So I don;t think he failed to meet high expectations.. he failed to meet even average ones. But we SHOULD have had LOW ones.

Which goes back to another poster's point... Pat White may have been a bit overdrafted as a second round pick... except his rare skill set makes a case for his selection. But we have to be willing to wait years for him to develop.

It'll be interesting to see how fan expectations and patience play into Tebow's development in Denver.

What TD's? Do you mean you're gicving him credit for the runninback's TD's because he handed them the ball? How many other players in the league get that credit too then??? JaMarcus Russel just became great, then. Come on, you can't attribute those to Pat. Let's argue fairly at least.

Pat DID have a sack and a fumble, though.

I agree that he was consistent whether it was a high pressure situation or a pre-season type one.

Once he learns all the info and technique he needs (maybe another yer or two), I think all his talents will show.

I really hope that gets to happen. No one may want to carry him on their roster as they wait for that, however.

Here is what I need to see from him this year, though:

    1) Better accuracy

    2) Less hesitation (learning to recognise, know what to d and react... not think/hesitate)

    3) Look like the game isn't too big for him. More commanding presence.

Well the biggest advantage of a dual-threat QB is how much he helps the running game. We saw that with Vick and Vince Young. So while attributing the TDs directly to him might not be correct, the packages he is used in are definitely beneficial to the running game.

    Apples and oranges.

Henne is not a 'specialist'. Specialists can get snaps without working up the same depth chart. Henne had to beat out Pennington at QB, whom did White have to beat out at WildPat QB?

I suppose the biggest drawback of running Wildcat (Ronnie), WildPat AND traditional Offense is how it would disrupt Henne's ability to get into rhythm by pulling him off the field mid-drive.

He did well, considering, with all the interruptions... but could he be BETTER without the interruptions on offense?

This definitely has to be considered against any element of advantage the alternate formations may or may not offer.

I would keep the WC but scrub the WP; one worked, and one didn't. It's that simple.

Sure we are! Padre was hired by the NFL to create an entire new stat line for QBs....Hand off TDs. For simplicity, pitch outs for TD will be included under this stat as well. You see...it was determined that with White taking the snap that the defenses were too confused and frightened to react properly to the runner getting the deftly executed White hand off. So if there is going to be a stat for him of "number of TD hand offs" we must include all QBs for fairness' sake. :wink2:

..last year I said Tim tebow will be picked in the first round and sombody is going to build an offense around the mans skills...Josh Mcdaniels was that guy...

We need to stay as the leaders of this offense while we have the best running wildcat player in the game.....nobody, i mean nobody can come close to what ronnie does out of the cat....some of ya'll need to watch some film very closely and get reinspired by the genious that is ronnie brown in this formation...

WE ARE THE LEADERS, WE ARE THE INNOVATORS, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO EVOLVE THIS MAGNIFICIENT FORMATION..SO DEAL WITH IT.

all i have to say after that is...RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!!!!!..lol..

I wouldn't bet money that he turns out to be anything special, but right now he is still a prospect.

Well, for the sake of discussion, and because this year's draft class is stone boring..

Here is what Pat White doesn't do well:

-He is not as quick as he needs to be, for all of the talk of "he needs to bulk up" the plain fact is White was hemmed in far too easily by NFL Defensive Ends, that may be due to hesitation on his part as he has to read the defense before just taking off, but those naked boot legs do not work as well in the NFL as they did at WVa

-His arm is okay, his deep accuracy is okay, his middle accuracy is atrocious, his short range accuracy is fine, White must learn how to throw that 10-20 yd throw into a tight window

-His footwork is regressed during the season, I rewatched the Saints v Dolphins preseason game, White's footwork was fine, during the season, it was sloppy.

-White has to learn how to throw around DE's who stay at home, this I saw several times in the preseason, the DE holds their ground, White tries to make the throw, the DE tips the ball.

On the positive side he is one heck of a open field runner, and his deep accuracy, as in 30 yds or more, is really quite good, the ball will make into even a tight window...now last yr the Wr's couldn't catch it in preseason, Brandon Marshall most assuredly could.
