He was asked if he had any reservations about playing this season. “I love the game of football,” White said. “I always will, I always have. I love the game of football.” Did he go through a rough patch recently, as his older brother suggested when he talked Friday night about White’s struggles with “life in general.” “Who doesn’t?” White said. “I mean, life has its ups and downs. Happy to be back out here and happy to be playing football.” And what was the biggest thing that got him through that recent rough patch? “The man up above,” White said. No, he wasn’t talking about Bill Parcells. http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...s-about-his-return-to-the-miami-dolphins.html As I indicated in my posts after the alarmist threads, lets not jump to conclusions. He may still be cut or traded but he will give it a shot first.
I love football too. Hope this kid keeps his chin up and works hard. If we can get 75% of how he produced in WV, it will fit in very nicely via the wild cat.
So does anyone know the real deal here? Did he actually consider leaving the team for good? If so, that kind of shaken confidence is hard to restore. Hope he gets through it, otherwise he's gonna be toast.
That was an awkward interview to say the least. It looked like he was holding back something because he was. He made it through, though.
My gut reaction is that the front office will likely place Pennington on the PUP list and give Pat White those first 5 games to prove whether or not he can add a special element to the Wildcat packages. If he doesn't, is there really a need to keep him any longer with Pennington and Thigpen around (under the assumption that Pennington is fully recovered).
Damn the secrecy of this...Iam sure Sparano's players respect his tight lips.... did he really need to take the first day of training camp off to decide, how is yesterday the determining factor....somethin sounds shady.
Quite the draft blunder for a FO that otherwise has done very well in that department, guess you win some you lose some.
Friend Fin-Omenal: so it would seem @ this point w/ hoping they would use him in something more creative & not go w/ conventional QB obviously, not going to happen looks like a bad call from my end of the internet...
Too late now. Once he participated in training camp practices, he is no longer eligible for PUP this season.
Not even close, ricky had success on the field before he left the team. Pats success (by that i mean none) won't be missed.
Only diffrence is we knew we were loseing something good in Williams, Im just not sure if White is a loss or not. Still on the wall with him and the wall is getting steaper.
I respect his privacy. I personally don't need to know what his personal life problems are, it's his life. He's a football player on our team. I wish him the best off the field and hope he can help us on it.
I went to the afternoon practice on Saturday and Pat White did not look that bad throwing the ball, He was with the third string team. here is a couple pics. Pat White and Sparano: Pat White with the 3rd string offense:
I guess the only difference is that Ricky was a great professional player. Pat White... ahhh maybe not....
