Harvey and Q Groves were thought to be can't miss prospects coming out in 08. So: Harvey Gholston Tim Crowder So far.
Antwan Odom as well DDupree. Not sure what is going on with Taylor, or if Javon Kearse should be in the mix,
We loved Harvey coming out and liked Groves too. Might see one of them brought in since there aren't great options available at OLB.
#1 pick talent until a knee injury at Clemson that was not handled properly derailed him sounds like he has issues
This really surprises me, I thought Roth's time in Cleveland was positive and he played at a high level, alas, the NFL does not think so, or he has priced himself out of the market.
I'm sure, if he sticks BB will have a role in mind for him doing exactly that, what I find funny is: "The patriots did not draft a passrushing OLB!!!!" So now, every defensive player they sign is...a passrusher. Off of the scrap heap he moves! Crowder's 2010 output equaled JT's per pff.
Guy has really bounced around, imho if he washes out in Detroit he should give the CFL a try and see if he can reinvent himself.
Inching closer to the scrap pile, I can recall E Brown beating Jake Long for a sack in the 09 preseason.
This should tell folks that the Bears are sort of hurting for talent, they keep adding Top 10 draft pick bust types, maybe Benson working out for the Bengals has taught them a lesson? Anyhow, Dolphins waived Brooks Foster yesterday, making room perhaps/
Sure looks like it, they are trying everyone "but" Jerry Hughes, would not surprise if he is traded prior to the season opener. And AFAIK, A Maybin signed with the Jest, have not seen that one confirmed but rumors were everywhere.
Some liked McDaniel coming out, Brown was making to much $$$ for his job this yr and: Maybin is in trouble in Jest land and: Bears released the Ghost For the Jest, McIntyre was a good CFL DT
Knew that one was coming, to me, I still roll the dice on him, but with letting Spears go, they do not appear to be in the market for a young passrushing prospect
Why Padre, why do you keep an eye on fmr high picks who were supposed to be passrushers, who bust out and wind up on the scrap heap? Exhibit #1, Jarvis Moss, 6'5 or so, solid but not outstanding athleticism, and here he is...
Curry isn't a part of this, but the former 4th overall pick is available in trade. I think Curry's best fit in the NFL would actually be as a TED in a 3-4 scheme where he has to become active in run support, limiting his coverage responsibilities but giving him the opportunity to rush the QB and stop the run.
Aaron Maybin got his first sack in the pros vs Bryant McKinnie. On a pure speed rush, which is what he should have been doing in Buffalo.
Well, when you have a player who does one thing well, you have to find situations to put him to succeed. Maybin maybe gets some snaps on 3rd downs in situations, I suspect he will do better then people think he will do.
I couldn't call him terrible Alen, he never played in Buffalo. And a speed rush is enough if it is a good speed rush, then you work off of it.
