Pasqualoni Has Coaching In His Blood http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/pasqualoni-has-coaching-his-blood Good read
Pfft, give me a defensive coordinator with creativity and a great scheme. I'm not terribly impressed with him at all.
I think the scheme is fine, I just think he's so damn vanilla. I like the guy and think he has done a solid job but he's got to be a bit more dynamic out there. We saw what he could do in the pre-season but in the regular season, he's been a completely different guy. No 4-2-5 fronts, no 2 man lines, no blitzes, no stunting, nothing.
As a Syracuse fan i am very embarassed that we even fired the guy because we havint been right since. As a dolphins fan i am thrilled that he is apart of our coaching staff.
I can understand not being happy with the passing defense, it's been pretty bad for a few games, but our run defense has been top notch. I think most of the passing game issues are player related. Our safeties can't be missing tackles in the open field and expect to keep the game manageable.
I'm not impressed with his blitz packages anlgp, there was no reason why JT and JP and Nate Jones were that quite the first 3 games.
notice i said rush defense and not pass defense. i know you can blitz the run as well as the pass, but i'm guessing you're talking about pass defense? if not then I stand corrected. I have to admit I don't understand why some calls are made, but from what I understand Syracuse has missed him since he has been gone & I know that when our rush defense holds up their end of the bargain and we do get a decent pass rush I really love the way it looks.
DC P likes a 4 man passrush and 7 back into coverage a bit too much anlgp, he is sort of like Arnsparger without the feel for blitzing and when not to blitz.
No that was Dick LeBeau and Dom Capers, Arnsperger was a master of hiding coverages with tons of zones, sort of the pre Tampa Two DC.
I thought LeBeau just expanded the zone blitz, Arnsparger was the originator of it and used a simplified version? That's how I know it. I'll try to find a link. EDIT: Read this and scroll all the way down to the "Correction" note.
