The Patriots must think 16-0 is a perfect season. I bet Mercury Morris is laughing his azz off about this: :sidelol:

The pats are going to hang up a 16-0 banner next to super bowl banners
here is the full story from the globe including talking about making the regluar season longer

    An imperfect solution
There was the journey toward a 16-0 regular season and the AFC championship, then the bitter ending of a crushing defeat in Super Bowl XLII. When top Patriots officials gathered this off season, they pondered the best way to celebrate a season that had such exhilarating highs and one crushing low.

In the end, after declaring the season the fourth-greatest achievement in team history, they elected to have a private ceremony to commemorate it last Monday at Gillette Stadium.

Owner Robert Kraft and team president Jonathan Kraft presented the players with rings. On one side of the ring, it reads "16-0 -- perfect season." On the other, it reads "18-1, AFC Championship."
here is the part of the story i mainly talking about.
In addition, a banner was made to commemorate the season, and it was unveiled at the ceremony, with Kraft pulling a rope as it came down from the ceiling. It will be displayed at Gillette Stadium, next to the team's Super Bowl banners.

"I think there were two things going on from last year - and one was that it was an extraordinary year that I don't think we got to savor and enjoy," Kraft said. "We accomplished something special as a team and organization last year, under tremendous scrutiny, more scrutiny than any team has ever been under.

I'll give it to the Pats because a 16-0 season is unbelievable but all of this seems foolish as they lost the Super Bowl and thus don't have a perfect season.

The banner should say; "Perfect Regular Season" and if they really wanted to throw in a little bragging rights they could say it was the only 16-0 perfect season ever.

I guess you have to feel good about something when the rest of the league and its fans think your 3 Super Bowl Titles are tainted because of cheating.

Maybe they should get a banner that says 18-1 or Superbowl Runnerup? What a joke.

The league should say something about this. They shouldn't be allowed to put up a banner saying perfect season because really it wasn't.

lol Whats next? Giving out copper, aluminum, and lead medals for 4-6th place in the Olympics?

That banner idea and ceremony reminds me of swim meets in elementary school where everyone got a ribbon. EVEN THE LOSERS.

    LMAO....

    This is awesome.

If I was a Pats fan attending home games, the last thing I'd want to see is a permanent banner in stadium to remind me about the biggest collapse in NFL history!

    I love it.

Doesn't surprise me, they're always trying to find a way to praise themselves.

I guess this is like we all get a trophy just for playing. I cheered for one of the crappest team in NFL history, where's my trophy?
