Does anyone know anything about painting a logo on a car? My mom has her own business called Evergreen Gardens, and she just got a new Ford Escape in white. I was thinking it might be a nice gift, or project, to put the logo on the car. Here is the logo, and I might want to also use the text. Don't have a picture of that, but you can see it at www.evergreen-gardens.com. So I imagine there are businesses that would do this, does anyone know how much something like this would cost? I was also considering maybe doing it myself. I don't have any experience with anything like this, how challenging would it be? I'm a perfectionist so I'm sure it would end up looking good if I had a good, very thorough tutorial to go by. Since the car is white I'd only need one color, but I don't know what I'd do about the shadow part of the logo then. Thanks.
your best bet is probably to have somebody at a local detailing shop make up some decals to stick on the side of the vehicle. However, those are "permanent". So you may what to look for someone who can make magnet signs. Then logo would show up, with the text, right on a magnet sign of any color that you can just slap on the the side of the vehicle whenever/wherever you wanted. They can do those in all colors/sizes. I don't think your costs would be more than a couple hundred bucks. Also, the benefit to a magnetic/static cling logo would be the fact that you can easily, and quickly remove it, and not ruin the value of the vehicle upon resale/trade.
I would consider that, but I wouldn't want it to look tacky, maybe it doesn't though. Thanks for the suggestions. I'd still like to know about painting though. If it's not too expensive I could repaint it if we ever got rid of it.
go to a print specialist and have a very large car magnet made up, or 2 or 3. ones for the sides, and one for the back. white is such an easy color to work with.
repainting afterwards would never look the same. especially after the original color fades, then the body shop who does the repainting uses the factory paint code... a good eye, will easily tell the difference. If you used stickers to put the logo on the vehicle... you'll have the same problem as above usually. When you go to pull them off after a few years, once you heat up the sticker, and remove it, and all of its glue(which can be tough unless you have the right stuff) youre still going to notice that where the stickers were... the paint will be a darker shade. The magnet decals dont really look tacky at all... you can get the base color to look the same as the paint color on the vehicle... then it blends in, with the exception of the logo that is on it. We did this alot at the car dealership I worked at for like 10 years before i got my current job... We used to put our company logo on cars all the time, for demo's, parades etc.. and it was always magnetic signs. they're great. on, or off, depending on when you want it. I really wouldn't recommend painting it on. It'll cost you more to do at first to get it on there, then it will cost you more to get it off afterwards. I'd recommend something thats easy on, easy off, that just attaches to the vehicle in some way, shape, or form
Kinko's can make a magnetic sign for you in any design you bring them, pretty much any size you'd need. That's a much better solution than painting, which can only devalue the vehicle - much less present a problem if your Mom's business's logo changes.
Go for a full vehicle wrap. There not to expensive, and if designed well, are way more professional than a magnet. Do a search for, "vehicle wraps" in your area.
