Just when it appeared that the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans wouldn’t be able to strike a deal regarding a trade for cornerback Pacman Jones, it now appears that the two teams are once again working toward getting it done.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, a trade finally could be in place by Tuesday.

Per Schefter, the Cowboys had been offering a sixth-round pick, but the Titans had been holding out for a fourth-rounder. The ‘Boys also wanted to recover a pick from the Titans in the future if Pacman were to get in trouble while in Texas.

Our wild guess is that the final deal will be for a fifth-rounder. Or maybe a sixth-rounder in 2008 and a conditional pick in 2009.

None of this means that Jones will be reinstated by the league. If, however, Jones’ rights are held by a more powerful and influential owner like Jerry Jones, there might as a practical matter be more pressure on the league officer to let Pacman play again.

    UPDATE
Titans | Team seeking fourth-round pick for P. Jones
    Mon, 14 Apr 2008 06:54:21 -0700

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports the Tennessee Titans are looking to acquire the Dallas Cowboys fourth-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft in trade for the rights to suspended CB Pacman Jones. The Cowboys originally offered a pick later in the draft before amending that to a draft pick and a player, however the most recent talks have focused on one of the team's higher draft choices, either a pick in the fourth or fifth round. If the National Football League does not decide on the short-term future of Jones, who is expected to file papers with the league for re-instatement as early as Monday, April 14, than a trade for Jones to the Cowboys could include a later-round pick in 2007 and a conditional choice in 2008, which would protect both teams in case Jones were not to be re-instated in a timely manner that would allow him to join his new team before the start of training camp.

Isn't Pacman still under suspension from the NFL??????

How can the Cowboys and Titans talk about a trade while he is still suspended? If I was Goddell I would say TOO BAD, he is not being reinstated at this point.
