It's been a hard enough free agency on me without having to imagine that Marshall is only going to play CB. I have to have some hope.
Dont you think that had something to do with a deeper wr core and a Pro Bowl TE ?We dont have nearly the offensive weapons nor the QB they have in GB.
IMO the scheme doesn't feature one WR. Sure, you'd love to have a great WR. But as you stated, they had depth. So your resources are going to be devoted to building depth at the position, instead of spending $10M on one guy for the next 3 years.
The Dolphins have a combined record of 20-28 over the last three seasons. Yet instead of having plenty of money under the salary cap, they have very little room under the salary cap at this time. So when you consider the teams record over the last three years and the amount of money they have committed to salaries right now, the Dolphins are probably the most overpaid team in the entire NFL.
Not threadworthy (though I'm sure someone else will post it as a thread), but here's another shot across the bow from Deadspin - http://deadspin.com/5894470/the-dolphins-have-spent-an-offseason-humiliating-themselves
