Is there any place that will buy old magazines? Not real old, talking like 2003-2008 or so but I tend to hold onto most magazines I subscribe too in case I ever want to re-read any of them (never do) they are just sitting in boxes. Playboy, Maxim, Esquire, Stuff, Various PC Magazines.... I need to stop being a pack rat and get rid of them but the entrepreneur in me wants to know if there's any chance of turning a dime on it
eBay or uBid for sure. Don't expect much for them—there isn't a great market, especially now. I have one original each of the Sports Illustrated and the Sporting News with Hank Aaron's 715 on the cover; I listed them once and no one even bid on them at about $10 each. But you can make some bucks by charging $3-5 for shipping and mailing them book rate. Just list them at $0.99 each or so; best to get an idea of the value of individual copies that might have some special interest and might be worth more.
I looked on ebay and there were a ton that weren't even getting a nibble. I've considered using the 8.00 flat rate boxes and sending the person as many as the box will hold for like 12.00 including shipping. I'm resistant to just throw them out, probably should just bite the bullet and toss 'em. Hell if anybody here wants some pay shipping and I'll cram as many as I can into a box for them as well
I think the garbage men would be more interested in them than anybody else. And only because they are paid to do so.
