Interesting film, Warford vs. Sharrif Floyd. Interesting first play- Floyd gets sent to the turf at the LOS by Warford, Floyd gets up, Warford releases then blocks Floyd about ten yards up field with a good heads up play/head on a swivel, then Floyd pulls a reverse Menelik Watson and makes the tackle on the screen pass 25 yards downfield- after having been on the ground at the LOS and on the receiving end of the solid 2nd level chuck by Warford. Impressive play for both of those guys, we could do worse than Warford at Guard, that's for sure. Floyd is one of the more mobile 300 plus DTs I've seen, period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTVRFZiNhhU
Talked about him a while ago and then again as a player to watch at the Senior Bowl. He's a top forty talent.
Warford reminds me a little of Mike Iupati. Imagine a team drafting Warmack & Warford, especially with a great center already in place. wow Wonder how long it'd take to have some kinda War nickname.... like the Wardaddy Bros. You think the Oline would be sured up with Warmack, Menelik Watson, and Warford? lol This fan base would have sh** fit if Ireland took those 3 with our first 3 picks. We could still have a great draft if we went Oline with first 2 picks 1. LG, Jon Cooper (trade back twice for extra 3rd & 5) 2. RT, Menelik Watson 2. WR, Da'Rick Rogers (his humility & ability to overcome a tough situation could be viewed as a positive if it seems he's matured and interviews well) 3. RB, Andre Ellington (Reggie Bush's playmaking replacement) 3. WR, Stedman Bailey (Bess's replacement) 3. OLB, DeVonte Holloman (Burnett's future replacement. Not sure why he's not getting much attention) 4. DE, Cornellius Washington (just scratching the surface of his pass rush ability) 4. DT, Jordan Hill, PSU (great interior pressure guy; not sure why he's not getting much love either) 5. TE, Chris Gragg (upgrade over Clay as a receiver & blocker. One guy I'd put money on ending up in Miami. Totally fits this offense.) 5. CB, Tyron Mathieu (got enough draft picks to use a 5th on the badger) 7. K, Dustin Hopkins (cut Carpenter and save $2.7M) 7. LB, Vince Williams (love his physical presence)
His feet are a bit overrated. He moves very well but he doesn't hit moving targets at second level consistently. I like him a lot though and think he's hell on wheels in a power scheme.
He looked to me like he can make every kind of block, he just wasn't getting a lot of help from the other 4 OL. Moves very well for his size. Almost like a young Larry Allen, or Aaron Taylor maybe too.
