I think last year it was "is the WM main event mostly WWE title matches or non title matches".

Off the top of my head the only WM main events that haven't been one on one matches have been WM1 (Hogan/T vs. Piper/Orndorf), WM16 (Triple H, Rock, Big Show, Foley), WM20 (Triple H vs. HBK vs. Benoit), and WM30 (Bryan vs. Batista vs. Orton).

If you're talking about Triple Threat matches for the WWE or WHC then there have been a few others, I believe Rey vs. Angle vs. Orton was on, Cena vs. Orton vs. Triple H maybe was another, also Big Show vs. Edge vs. Cena? I could have missed a few others or have a wrong wrestler here or there.

I have always maintained that nothing good ever came from a dong shot.

When are dudes gonna learn to not take dong pics?

Agreed and same can be said about females too.

I wonder if Rollins will get any type of punishment from this or not. Hopefully he doesn't. But it's 2015, people need to be smarter about their cell phones, social media and picture taking.

Seems fairly obvious that Seth was cheating on his fiance in some regard, she found out, and posted those photos of both of them. My guess is WWE will distance themselves from this as much as possible. I doubt Seth sees any real consequences from this, other than if this somehow continues pass the typical 24 hour news cycle.

Yeah word is he doesn't have any heat backstage and the WWE is chalking it up to his account being hacked and has reportedly told its employees not to talk about it out of respect to Seth.

    Here's my response:

Clearly Seth Rollins isn't related to Titus O'Neill.

Just read the Smackdown spoilers, please Wrestling Gods don't give us a Big Show vs. Kane feud, especially not a possible WM match.

I didn't think that NXT would be about to top R-EVolution, but man, Rival was phenomenal last night. Three very good matches (Balor/Neville, Women's 4 Way, and Owens/Zayn) with two above average matches (Itami/Breeze, Tag Match) and only one sloppy match in Bull/Corbin. What a great show.

I don't get how WWE can do this show so right and then turn around and produce Monday Night Raw.

NXT is the best thing going right now in all of wrestling, which is sad since it's "developmental".

Finn Balor is the man. I ****in love him, and holy **** a ref stoppage for Owens?! Dude wins the title 2 months after arriving, HHH is going to bring him up into the authority sooner rather than later....he loves that ****in dude.

    And so do I.

It's because it's Triple H's baby and he's one of the few, or possibly, the only one that has a say in what happens. And best of all because it's a development show that means Vince says the hell away from it.

I mean seriously, this was a 2 hour WRESTLING show with non stop action and good WRESTLING matches. They didn't need to waste time on 20 minute promos or have stupid angles to set up matches.

The Owens/Zayn match was perfect because there was actual backstory and the angle/feud made freaking sense. The two guys were best friends but Owens turned on him because he WANTS to win the title because it will help him get more money to feed his family. Just a perfect old school throw back feud instead of any of the WWE produced crap we got all last year.

It's clear Balor is ready now between his entrance and in ring work but I wouldn't want him in The Authority, he's too much of a lone wolf type with the face paint etc to fit there.

Plus I'm worried as all hell once guys like Balor, Neville, Zayn, Kenta and Breeze get called up that the WWE was simply drop the ball with them and do nothing because "they're too small". Owens I have somewhat of hope for but could see Vince looking at his body and giving him a fat camp type gimmick.

Think you missquoted me. I meant Owens moved up to Authority.....a heel bruiser type working for HHH is perfect.

Balor def is a lone wolf.

HHH put a picture of them doing the "kliq" hand sign on his instagram afterwards. I wouldnt be surprised if hes flying up to the show sooner rather than later.

I'd rather he (and the others) stay in developmental for a little longer until the WWE is fully committed to pushing him ala The Shield and Bray Wyatt. I don't want him to end up like Bo Dallas or Adam Rose where they come up and Vince doesn't "get it" and loses interest or faith.

I dunno if that'd happen with Owens. WWE needs a real badass heel. Someone who will tell the crowd to shut up, will cheat to win, will slide out of the ring to avoid momentum for his opponent ala last night. Not a "cool" heel. Not a "slimey" heel like Rollins. But a real ****in Heel. Will beat a guy down backstage to make his match easier etc. Owens can and would be that.

    He'd get over real quick.

I initially hated the finish to Owens/Zayn, but I have come around on it and I think that I was reacting emotionally to the way they handled it. In retrospect it was a brilliant way to get the title off of Zayn, and it was a unique finish that we have literally never seen before in WWE, and it made total sense within the context of the storyline.

I was one of those guys who was furious about the way that the Rumble was booked and handled, but I really don't care. I'm starting to come around to the fact that I can pay 9.99 for stuff like NXT and the Archive and that alone is worth it. I'm not a fan of the primary product right now, but there's enough secondary stuff to keep me interested. Between NXT (and Lucha Underground), there's plenty of wrestling to keep me entertained each week.

Ya I loved that finish the second my wife (who barely watches, but loves UFC) said "oh **** he won via ref stoppage"

I looked at it as a 4th round TKO in the octagon....pretty badass.....he never tapped...never got knocked out, the ref just stopped it due to damage being taken. Owens looks like a monster, Zayn still looks strong, took a beating etc. So cool!

This exactly. The current main product is beyond awful right now but between NXT, all the old archive stuff on the Network and monthly PPVs (no matter how bad they are) are absolutely worth $9.99 a month.

And I really liked the Owens/Zayn finish. It really should have been the finish of the first Cena/Brock match at Extreme Rules in what 2012 or even their SS match this year.

Exactly. Puts more heat on the winner and the loser still keeps his heat since he "never really lost" the match. Plus it advances the future storyline so, assuming, when Zayn finally beats Owens it makes the win that much more special.

And also because it was something different. It wasn't the same crap finish that happens on the main roster where a babyface gets distracted by outside interfere and loses in a fluke way. This finish made both guys look good and even stronger.

So what happens with Neville here? He moves up to the show at this point, no? He lost to Balor, no where for him to go at this point.....no one wants to see him and Zayn feud more. Balor now gets Owens, unless Regal gives Zayn an immediate rematch.

Supposedly Sami will be touring overseas with the main roster for the next month - so this was a brilliant (and I mean brilliant) way to get the title off of him, write him out, and also allow him to come back strong when the time is right.

Then you start to think about something like a Balor / Owens / Zayn triple threat and go from there.

Yeah he really has nothing left to do or prove in NXT. My only fear is Vince will see him standing next to Cena or Orton and immediately send him packing due to lack of size. I forget who said it on either Austin or Jericho's podcast but Neville would be a perfect tag team with Cesaro.

  33. Samphin

Good show last night. The only dud was the tag team match. Also, I may be alone in this, but I think that Flair's daughter is awfully overrated. The two Diva stars are Bayley and Sasha Banks. Fantastic wrestling from those two in that match.

Balor vs. Neville was a great match, and a brilliant illustration of how competent announcing (battle for the top rope, who gets there first, etc.) can make the in match story telling better.

Zayn is probably headed to the main roster, where I think he will find an audience on the low end of the mid-card. What makes him great for audiences now, doesn't truly translate to WWE's glossy finish.

Kevin Owens does, however. And he will flourish at the next level. I see him more as a Bully Ray Clone, or possibly Bam Bam Bigelow. Those would be the two guys I make him study, immediately. I also think he would benefit from tightening up his upper body. His build works to his advantage, but wrestling in basketball shorts and a cut off tee isn't terribly appealing, unless you needed a reminder of what people shopping at Costco on the weekends look like. trimming up some will help him shine brighter, faster, at the next level.

I agree about Charlotte. Shes built like a range rover. But she doesn't have a real smoothness about her spots. She seems to "tip off" what she's doing too blatantly for the crowd and viewer to see. Kind of clunky. Shes got the name, and the look....but you're right Sasha and Bayley were fantastic in that match.

I think she's still green but has potential. She's a freak of an athlete though.

The NXT women's division is LIGHT YEARS better than the main roster. If I'm anyone other than Nattie, Paige, the Bellas (only because of their connections and marketability) and possibly Naomi, I'd be worried about my job once these NXT girls are promoted. There is a ton of dead weight there, although Total Divas is probably saving a lot of those jobs (cough Eva Marie cough).

You guys are wrong about Charlotte.

She is a great wrestler and athlete, and she has a built in gimmick. She is a dream to have on your roster as a Diva Headliner. Remember her matches with Paige and Natty? Top notch.

In fact..as far as her being "green", they made her an instructor and she helps in training the divas on the main roster.

As far as Owens..he is a throwback blood and guts over-achiever heel. They haven't had one since the Dudley's in the Tag division, and Benoit, The ECW guys (Dreamer, Snow, etc..) and more recently, Finlay, JBL and Umaga.

They got to give him a ring attire gimmick. Ambrose took the street clothes dock worker gimmick...so I would propose he go the mercenary soldier of fortune route...basically steal Bubba Ray's attire. Wear combat boots, camo pants, with a cutoff with his logo on it. Vary the camo pants like the Dudley's used to do.

If Bubba Ray comes back...let him wear his Bully Ray stuff.

    Cargo shorts, liar!

But again, the goal as a wrestler is to be relatable, not attainable. John Cena and Steve Austin can wrestle in jorts because they still look the part. They were muscle bound guys that most of us aren't ever going to look like.

Kevin Owens looks like Sick with a beer gut. You can't really suspend disbelief and see him as something more than some dude who is on a staycation, wrestling in his pajamas. There is something to be said about looking the part. Kevin had the skill, mic ability and fantastic intensity and facial expressions, but wrestling in gym clothes and looking like my next door neighbor is sort of a deadly combo.
