Listened to Austin's Podcast with Paul Heyman that he recorded two days after Summer Slam but just posted it this week and man it completely sucks that Daniel Bryan got hurt and also sad that the WWE completely dropped the ball with the Brock/Cena storyline. In discussing the SS match between Cena/Lesnar, Heyman said he had no issue with Brock destroying Cena because he compared it to The Dark Knight Rises and how Bane (Brock) completely destroys Batman (Cena) and now Batman (Cena) will have to climb out of the pit and really go to a dark place to get his revenge.

Imagine how good the storyline would have been if it was Bryan who got destroyed by Brock and had to come back by winning the Rumble and finally getting the big win at WM? The fans would have gone nuts having Brock dominate and beat Bryan like that and would have that much extra heat on him. The WWE in the meantime could have kept Bryan off TV for awhile and given the NOC PPV match against Brock to Cena and have Brock beat him and remain strong and unstoppable.

Instead we got SuperCena taking 1 week off and coming back and having an eh match with a crap ending and absolutely no storyline build up and it helped no one involved.

But hey that's the WWE in a nutshell this year right?

Apparently March house show cards are listing Cena as the WWE Champion, leading to speculation that Cena/Reigns will be the WM Main Event. Wrap your heads around that trainwreck.

So Wayatt vs Taker and sting vs HHH at WM.

  9. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Fun ending to RAW. Also, there are some pictures online of a kid in the front row crying, and HHH breaking character to comfort the kid, before ultimately getting the kid and his dad backstage. Cool moment.

The ending makes me think that Brock might be losing at Rumble, which surprises me as the storyline is BEGGING for him to lose at WM, instead. It is also officially, too early to give Reigns the torch at WM. I have determined this.

What I want to see happen is Bryan win his match on Smackdown against Kane, HHH congratulates him and says he gets to stay in the Rumble, but HHH announces he will be the #2 entrant (because he is a fair boss, and forcing him in at#1, wouldn't be fair, etc.). Kane enters at 30.

Bryan, Reigns, Show and Kane are the last four in. Reigns eliminates Show. Before Show leaves, he distracts Reigns and Kane dumps Reigns. Reigns/Show fight to the back as Kane turns his attention to Daiel Bryan, his former tag team partner, and longtime rival. He beats the snot out of Bryan for awhile, bu eventually, kicks by Bryan, a flying knee and a MONUMENTAL body slam over the top rope eliminates Kane and gives Bryan the victory and WM Main Event.

Meanwhile, Brock pins Cena after he takes a curb stomp from Rollins before Sting distracts Rollins, who gets tossed from the ring by Brock. Lesnar retains, but Rollins gets the chance to lay claim to being the one who beat Cena before Sting interfered.

You build Bryan vs. Lesnar and do the EXACT Batman storyline outlined above. Brock keeps destroying Bryan at every chance and leaves him injured prior to WM, leaving his spot in jeopardy.

Bryan ultimately makes it to WM, overcomes the odds and beats Brock for the titl. The place explodes, he is cheering, confetti is dropping while Brock powders out of the ring. Heyman is helping Brock to the back as Rollins' music hits, Brock/Heyman pass Rollins as he makes his way down, Rollins cashes in on an exhausted and beaten Bryan. Despite this, Bryan is game to keep going. They fight for a go do five minutes and Bryan is rallying, he goes to the corner to do his running elbow deal, and out of no where, he is tripped by Paul Heyman who made his way back to the ring without anyone knowing. Bryan goes to get up, unsure of how he tripped and WHAM! Curb stomp, pin, 1-2-3.

Rollins wins the title and becomes the latest Paul Heyman guy in the process. Bryan chases for a few months after

To finish this story, then Brock goes back to UFC for a year or two, gets pummeled by Cain Velasquez yet again and sent back to WWE where he will appear once a month again.

Having Brock lose the title before WM would be just dumb. It would basically be them admitting they screwed up the whole year of booking with him. And thus having him beat Taker at WM30 would end up being pointless (even though it already is and a truly bad decision looking back).

And yeah Reigns clearly isn't ready for the main spot light no matter how hard the WWE is trying to push him. I really think it would be a disaster if they gave him that top spot at WM this year, especially with Bryan in play. I think it was an Austin/Meltzer Podcast where they were talking about Reigns and both guys agreed it was good he was getting acting lessons while he was hurt but he really also should have been on the road with the company at live shows watching the matches and also getting in live unscripted promo time to help him out. Again another problem with current WWE where everything is completely micromanaged and guys can't go out on their own and cut promos so instead we get Reigns talking about Jack and the Beanstalk.

The ending last night was awesome. Sting's first appearance officially on Raw. Rumble is going to be awesome, a bit unpredictable which I like. Reigns making it look easy eliminating Show over the top rope scares me that he's looking strong to win.....but also that brutally physical match for Bryan felt like a try-out to make sure he can hold up before deciding what to do via Rumble. Who knows.

Sam I like your lay out above, makes sense. But man I wish WWE would do whatever to keep Brock.....the guy is insane.....him coming down to the ring, handing Heyman the title and going ape **** on Rollins, Kane and Show made me act like a ****ing kid again cheering like crazy! Was intense. He brings something so incredible that no one else does.....hes such a believable monster.

I loved the Bryan/Bray match until the ending, hated seeing Bryan lose his first RAW match back, especially when it leads to yet another angle involving Kane. (Seriously I complain about him and Big Show a lot on this thread but they are both pretty much useless and have been for years, can't wait for both guys to retire).

I love Brock too but I can understand if the WWE decides to let him walk because right now he's simply not worth the big money they are paying him. He's done little to spike Network buys since the Network started up and having him sit home with the WWE title ended up being a bad idea. I'm hoping they can work out a new deal but really what's left for Brock to do at this point? He's feuded with all of the WWE's big stars since he's been back except Bryan and Orton and I can't see the WWE paying him big match to waste it on a match with someone like Sheamus or guys that aren't quite ready for the rub like Reigns or Ambrose.

I can't stand Kane.....when his music hit, after a ****ing top rope cross body to the outside, and ruined ****ing momentum it pissed me off. I am soooooo TIRED of that feud. No one cares about it and Kane is friggin done. So washed up its ridiculous.

Glad you're finally coming around to the Kane Hate Club. Big Show is in the same boat. I mean seriously it's 2015 when was the last time Kane or Big Show were in a meaningful or good feud?

For Big Show maybe the Mayweather stuff for WM24, which was 7 years ago and before that I honestly can't remember the last time before that that Show did anything of note. And Kane, geez, personally I was sick of him after his stuff with Undertaker, Austin and Foley in 1998. His character did get a little more interesting after his mask was removed and that only lasted a few months where he was decent, then he was back to the same boring character. I will admit I liked his stuff with Bryan as a tag team, mainly for Bryan's comedy skits, but take that away and he's been a waste (in my eyes) for 15 years or so. Incredible.

And that's not taking anything away from Show or Kane, I was respect them and they are good company guys but yeah I don't ever need to see them wrestle again. Nor should they continue to be put in main event level feuds and angles.

Eh I think that ship has sailed. The time to do it was last year when Goldust and Cody were hot as a tag team but like always the WWE depushed them for no real reason to give the New Age Outlaws the belts and they just haven't been able to get back to where they were. Now if/when they break up I doubt anyone will truly care.

    That was a great RAW.

problem I see is that they are opening up Brock's vulnerability waaaay tooo much which leads me to believe they are prepping a title change...soon.

    Which would suck.

Rumor going around that the Dudley Boyz have been talking to the WWE about a potential return, they could be surprise entries into the Royal Rumble.

I'd love to see the Dudleys back to try and get the tag team division back on track.

Ya I can def live with that. If they come out at the rumble, there is only one way to do it:

    Countdown 5...4...3...2...1....BUZZER

No one enters at 16............90 seconds go by......5....4...3...2...1......BUZZER!!!!

Both the Dudleyz come out at the same time, and ****in wreck the **** out of the rumble.....d-von eventually gets eliminated, let Bully Ray last longer, so he has something to reference at break up down the line "I am better without you" etc etc.....and have him eliminate someone like miz, or stardust, or usos......and start a tag feud.......they HAVE to put someone through a table however....perferably the Ascension and usos

Yeah I agree they almost have to come out together or it would ruin the surprise of the other guy coming out. If D-Von came out first everyone would know Bubba is coming soon and if Bubba comes out first no one will care when D-Von does.

If they're not in the Rumble then it would make sense if they came over after the NAO vs. Ascension match and put both teams through the tables.

I think the WWE kind of has to have them come back as a team because both guys will be cheered no matter what returning for the first time since what 2006ish and then they can help put over the tag team division and give the rub to some team before they split up.

Easiest way to do this would be to have the timer go off but not have anyone come out. The announcers could sell it and wonder what was happening. Then have them both come out in the next spot.

Anybody have a good idea who the "Joke" entries are gonna be at the Rumble?

They already did Godfather, JBL, Michael Cole, King, Diesel....

I am thinking that Booker T and somebody that is ECW'ish (Tommy Dreamer?) gets the Nod this year.

Original plans for the Rumble was suppose to be 40 guys and have a ton of ex-ECW guys. Dreamer isn't a bad idea, maybe RVD too. I'd love to see someone like Sandman, Sabu or Raven but highly doubt them, especially Raven.

It really bugs me though that the WWE wastes spots for guys like Lawler or Michael Cole, hell I even hate it when they put guys like El Matadors or the Usos in the match because it just feels like a waste of a spot.

ITll never happen, but if they took one year, and had, say for example, Xavier Woods win.......as like entrant 16.....they'd lay soooooo much more credibility to future RR and entrants just because it wouldn't be as predictable.

Even if they lose the spot the next night on RAW or something, just to add more unpredictablity to the RR.....however, I don't want nor see that happening lol.

I've been saying that should happen for years. Especially when the Elimination Chamber PPV was in Feb you could have the guy lose his shot in the EC or whatever and the WWE had the two World titles.

I'm actually kind of mad at myself, instead of re watching all of the old WCW Nitros and PPVs in order, I should have watched all of the Royal Rumbles this month. Tonight I might just have to watch the greatest Rumble ever 1992 and this weekend 2000 one, although 2001 isn't too shabby ever. Those are by far my favorites.

Goldust is apparently going to retire from active in ring work shortly after WM31 and become a full time agent/producer. Cody is expected to stay on as the Stardust character. Given the number of years Dustin's been with the company and being a pretty good company man in general I wonder if they will give him a final WM moment and give him a match against Cody, even if it's on the preshow. I still think it's about a year too late on the break up of the team but why not if he's going to retire?
