Actually the problem if I remember correctly was that the WWE couldn't land a TV spot for a WCW show as none of the networks wanted to give them any time, especially a prime time time slot for a 'dead' brand. Once that happened was when the WWE started to kill the WCW name further. The plan was to have The Rock be the main act of WCW with Shane McMahon running that brand.

Wow RAW was bad last night. Where to start? The Rock promo was completely flat and he really had no direction or point but I don't really blame him because him tagging with Cena just makes zero sense. Who's really going to take Awesome Truth seriously when Cena basically beat them up single handedly last night. Would it kill the WWE to give The Miz a cheap win?

I did like the segments with the Muppets, especially with Sheamus and when Ziggler and Swagger messed with Gonzo. I also thought it was very interesting they gave Zack Ryder (who's over with the crowd) the win over Ziggler. I wonder if they're going to change Ziggler's next opponent from Mason Ryan (who's a Wellness Policy waiting to happen) to Ryder. Personally I say go with the hot hand which is Ryder right now. The crowd likes him and he's selling a lot of mech which is a miracle considering how little TV time he's gotten.

I thought Raw was great last night honestly. Henry vs Punk was a good match and done very well. I liked the backstage setup with Punk and John L, it made me wonder how Punk was going to make Del Rio accept his match and the WWE hasn't made me wonder in a long long time.

Also they gave the Smackdown brand credibility with Big Show CLEANLY beating Del Rio which was a HUGE surprise and twist to me. Ryder and Ziggler put on a great show and they have great in ring chemistry together. The tag match was kind of a letdown but was still solid. Even Santino was great. The Muppets didn't even ruin the show as I imagined they would.

The Rocks promo was alright, not near his best but he's been out of the game a long time and it was just good to see him doing something again. Crap even Cena and Miz put on a decent match which is crazy as I find both of them to be boring wrestlers, Cena more so than Miz.

My highlight of the night - Bella twins as Mario and Luigi with fake mustaches. That made me think they were awesome. Every other Diva was dressed like a...well dressing "sexy" and here they are in overalls and fake mustaches lol

On a side note Finkle I agree with you about Cena beating them both up, and where was Miz to help R-Truth? Don't tell me the AA hurts that bad, it isnt THAT great of a move lol he didnt get like, tombstoned or something

Not only that but why have Cena win that match? Wouldn't it do more good if the odds at stacked against Cena and The Rock going into the PPV? Besides the whole can The Rock and Cena co-exist angle why not build Awesome Truth into a legit threat. Last night you had Cena make The Miz tap and then beat up R-Truth when he tried to sneak attack Cena. The show ends with Cena standing over R-Truth laughing. How does that sell a PPV?

Of course the WWE probably figures, 'hey we got The Rock's first match since WM20, that will sell the show by itself'. And they may very well be right but why don't you at least give the rub to Awesome Truth in the meantime. It's not like The Miz cheating to win is going to hurt Cena's heat.

I just don't get the WWE's booking sometimes.

Yeah I definitely agree on that front. At first I thought maybe it was just a rowdy fan who grabbed Cena because they didn't pan back (I mean I figured it had to be R-Truth but when they didn't pan back and he didn't immediately come to the ring I wondered). I don't have a problem with Cena winning the match even though it would be 100x better if he didn't, I more had a problem with what you said: Cena beating them BOTH up and leaving them in the ring. Survivor Series may as well be a handicap match. At least have Truth come down with like some brass knuckles or a chair....ANYTHING and beat Cena with it. Just something to make Awesome Truth look like a threat.

Side note - I'm sick of people getting hit with water bottles. THAT DOES NOT HURT. It hurts LESS than a damn punch. If you aren't man enough to get hit with something better, or don't want to hit people WITH something better....just don't hit them with anything at all.

Attitude Adjustment is a terrible finishing move. I can't think of many finishers over the years that I've liked less. Wade Barrett's kind of sucks too. If a finisher is going to be any kind of slam it should probably be some kind of powerbomb. Otherwise it needs to be either a good move off of the top turnbuckle or some kind of move that impacts the head like the diamond cutter/RKO, the stunner, the pedigree, or various modified DDTs and piledrivers we've seen over the years. I never really loved Rock Bottom either but at least you could say he was forcefully driving the opponent into the mat. AA doesn't generate much more impact than any body slam or suplex. If any at all.

Evan Bourne got hit with the Wellness Policy so you won't be seeing him for 30 days. He picked a bad time to get caught.

That sucks Bourne is a decent wrestler. It could suck even more for Kofi, are the tag title belts going to be out of commission that long or do we see the title lost or what.

If I had to guess I bet they either filmed an injury angle where some team beat up Bourne back stage or they will flat out say Bourne got hurt and will be out for 30 days or whatever. I don't think they will move the tag titles off of them simply because they don't have anyone else really.

Figure I would bump the thread by talking Tna, Looks like they might have the right guy as champion right now with Roode being the champ, Hopefully they will let him run with it for 6 months to a year. It would be nice to see a long term champ again instead of thirty title changes every year.

They continue to do a great job with Mark Henry. His feud with Show is becoming a high point of Smackdown IMO. I'm wondering if they are going to take the title off of him at SS or let him roll with it all the way to WrestleMania.

If I were to guess I'd say they probably have Henry vs Sheamus penciled in for WM. It would make sense, both guys have worked hard and gotten over with the crowds. They deserve it. Of course it could change if Undertaker comes back.

The AA aka F-U is in fact, a bastardized version of the Death Valley Driver. When done properly, it looks and feels brutal (I have taken the move dozens of times and its a fine line between it feeling okay, and hurting like a mother effer). The original move, for those that haven't seen it, is a fireman's carry into a sideways piledriver. Basically, the same movement that Cena does, but with the impact occuring on the head/neck region.

Since the WWE has banned any and all moves like that, Cena has no choice but to toss them on to their back. I agree that it looks weak and no worse than a regular slam, but it is what it is. It doesn't help that his STF version looks awful as well.

As for the water bottle thing. I think the point of it is to catch someone off guard as opposed to do devastating damage. It is also a psychological thing, if a guy is willing to pick up anything to hit the other one (including a water bottle) it tends to give them the vibe of being more ruthless. Wrestlers shouldn't sell it like they are being shot though, that is certainly silly.

I remember when Saturn in WCW used the death valley driver as a finisher. It was an awesome move but it definitely looked dangerous. I don't know why if you're Cena you don't just find a better finisher once you can't use DVD.

Honestly, with the right build up, it could work. You should have Mark Henry start adding people to his "Hall of Pain". On the other hand, you get Sheamus to go on a streak of his own, destroying heel after heel (with a few classics thrown in for good measure). Then you can sell the angle as the Irresistable Force (Sheamus) versus the Immovable Object (Henry). Heck, you can even make it an Iron Man Match (Or maybe not).

I think people would buy that match if they keep both guys strong and on their current path/pace. But maybe it's just me but I wouldn't want to see an Iron Man match between the two. I don't think either guy is capable of going over 10 to 15 minutes while putting on a good match.

Eh, I don't know maybe I'm a traditionalist but I don't think you need those types of gimmick matches for World title matches at WM. I'd probably save that for the rematch at the next PPV as part of a selling point. WM sells no matter what so save the gimmick match when you're going to need a reason to get people to watch the next PPV.

Raw was brutal again last night, I made it till 10:20 last night and couldn't take it anymore and went to bed. cole segment was terrible intentionally or not for punk to come out. But the fans crapped on the foley segment with cena, sometimes you can't do things twice like when they did for the rock about a decade ago. Only way I will watch this ppv is if it was free.

There's nothing like MSG during a wrestling event, that's for sure. Looking at the card my only complaint would be that Zack Ryder wasn't in the match vs. Ziggler. I mean why put Morrison in that match when they've been jobbing the guy left and right. Plus it's Ryder's hometown and the fans were going nuts for the guy before he even showed up (word was there were huge "We want Ryder" chants going on with the crowd on the street before they opened up the doors and also those same chants during the dark match and of course during the US title match. If Ryder had the match and got the victory imagine the pop? It could have turned Ryder into a pretty big star. I just don't get the WWE with how they're using him. I feel like they change their minds on him each week as to whether or not they're going to go all in on him. The guy is a hard worker, sells a bunch of merch without being in a top spot and is over with the crowds. Use that to your advantage. If I were running the company I'd give Ryder the win and US title.

MSG is awesome. CM Punk match was decent, so was the main event. The only issue I have with the main event is how big of a punk they are making Cena look like. He looks like a chump right now. The character is stale, they need to just turn him heel and get it over with.

  26. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I can respect the slow burn with Ryder which, is actually whipping the crowd into a huge lather for the guy, but last night is when they should have pulled the trigger tight with him. Could have had Swagger or whoever punk out Morrison during th ematch, Ziggler wins, grabs a mic and claims that no one can beat him...out comes Ryder for a quick fist fight, finisher and U.S. title victory. I agree with pop would have exploded.

Now...if they showed this patience with PUNK'S angle over the summer, it would have been perfect. This really should have been the Cena-Punk blowoff match with Rock as the special ref. Punk wins to unify the titles, Rock, Rock bottom's Cena and bam..Wrestlemania's main event is set, the champ is a huge star in Punk and you ride the wave all the way to the bank.

As it was though, the card was okay. You can get away with an "okay" PPV when you have a crowd like that though. They were insanely vocal, albeit somewhat disrespectful to the performers, but nonetheless, you would rather that than a quiet, disengaged crowd.

Awesome Truth was broken up way too soon, like most tag teams nowadays. I don't want to see R-Truth as a face again, he was really clicking as a heel.

So two promos for returning folks last night. One is for Kane, obviously. And lots of speculation on who the other one is for. Everyone from Undertaker, to Jericho to McMahon. I think there are a lot of red herrings within the video to eliminate those three, but it will be interesting to try and figure out who it is. I love when the WWE does viral type stuff.

And its too bad about Miz/Truth, but the WWE was painted into a corner. Truth got popped for the same thing as Evan Bourne (and actually at the same time), but they couldn't or wouldn't change the main event for Survivor Series so they delayed his suspension. Little bit of lockerroom strife over it from what I hear, as Truth got preferrential treatment.
