No kidding! There was NO pause for a review. How can anyone say he wasn't in a passing motion? He clearly didn't fumble until he was into his throwing motion. that **** REALLY pisses me off.
Evidently, Arizona's defense is to blame for the loss; most notably Dominique Rogers-Cromartie who was responsible for THE ENTIRE PROGRESSION of that final drive. Not the touchdown, but EVERY OTHER big passing play. He sucks and will be as overrated as his cousin for the fact that he gambles enough to have a high INT count. However, Warner is a ****ing stiff. You come close to that guy and he folds. He played a solid game overall, but he's a stiff. That's all I'm saying. Played good enough to win, but he IS a "mess" in my book. Always felt that way about him.
Great SB. I thought it was over at the half. Not as great as last year (BB storming off the field with time left was so.****ing.beautiful.) but non the less entertaining.
Also I'm sticking to my guns that Big Ben is NOT a very good QB. All game every game he throws short passes, gets great protection, runs in circles, throws it 5 yards down the field, has a high completion percentage with more INT's than TD's and gets called the best thing since sliced bread. Wish I had his job.
I disagree with you there. You could see his foot roll forward like there was downward pressure. It would have been a rough call to overturn it.
The officials played a pretty big part in that game...a little too big a part in my opinion. I'll say one thing though, this crew actually called holding today the way it should be called. I think the penalties were so high because we are so used to the officials letting every hold go unpunished. Good game though, the 4th quarter was riveting. MVP should be co-MVP....Holmes and Harrison.
There was no official review of the last incomplete pass by Warner that was incorrectly ruled a fumble on the field. For it to have been an official review the referee would announce it and go over under the hood to look at it and talk to the replay booth.
And throw it into heavy coverage? That may be the case when you have time and you don't need a very long game-winning TD pass. What he did was what Roesthlisberger does. Give Fitz and Anquan a little more time to get open and set up a big throw. If they checked it, they must be living in fast forward because there's no way they could've so much as loaded the video on the screens in that time-frame. Clearly an incomplete pass. Refs gave the Steelers this one.
Yes, they do that for coaches' challenges. Other plays under two minutes are reviewed upstairs, according to the announcers. I saw the play about ten times before Pgh took possession.
Probably should have been reviewed. Either way it probably wont make a difference. Good game by both teams, Pitt was a little better tonight.
A play that big, in a game this big has to be reviewed. I didnt think it was a fumble, at first, the arm isn't moving forward, but then, after being touched first, it clearly was. It has to be checked carefully. Its a Superbowl! People paid a crap load of money to be there! And I wasnt rooting for anyone
No, they're not. The booth radio's down to the official to review the play, the official makes an announcement and HE reviews it. The booth is not the deciding factor, the official is.
I don't care what anybody says, that was an incomplete pass. The ball cannot possibly travel forward in the air unless his arm was moving forward, physically impossible. What a joke that the game ended like that. Posted via Mobile Device
That game hurt as I really wanted to see the Cards win and erase all the years of suffering for their fans. I hold no real malice towards Pitt. but seeing them win was a bit sad. With that said the Cards beat themselves. The end of the 1st half INT TD returned by Harrison and the drive where they started on the Pitt. 42 after Breaston's Punt Return and didn't score killed them. Then the drive where the Cards committed three 15 yard penalties that gave Pitt. three points. Basically the Cards should have had at least 6 points more and the Steelers 3 less, giving the Cards a 26-24 win.
There was no booth review. I understand the difference between the two, and that play was not officially reviewed by the replay booth. That's all I got to say about that.
If it wasnt going to make a difference, then get it right and review it, and let it actually not make a difference. Now we will never know what could've happened
Oh come on dude. You've been against the Steelers this whole game. That was a touchdown - both feet down and right arm under the ball when landing. You said earlier that Arizona outplayed them in the first half but they only had 13 total yards in the first quarter compared to Pittsburgh's 113 and they didn't do anything to have a better half in the second quarter.
The only thing they do upstairs in the last two minutes, is to tell the refs the play needs to be reviewed. In this case, they failed to do that.
Woodley punched it forward. He made contact with the ball before the arm was going forward. IMO I wouldnt have reversed it if I was an official and was told to review. Alot of people are making a big fuss here, but quite frankly it wasnt as obvious as some of you claim.
You write it off so nonchalantly. This is the culmination of an entire seasons work for 2 NFL teams, there's millions of dollars in bets, hundreds of millions in advertising, and millions of people watching. Not reviewing that play is unacceptable.
Of course NBC refused to show his feet up close on any of the 500 replays. And of course it HAD to be Santonio Holmes.
Woodley didn't punch it forward. He was pressing on the ball when his arm was cocked back, but Warner overpowered him and threw the ball forward (it just couldn't go far because of the opposing force). That's an incomplete attempt in my book.
Agreed, Woodly hit the ball at the back of motion had it come out then it would have been a fumble. It didn't, he went another foot+ in his motion before it came out. Sick.
lol. dude, there was 15 seconds left and no timeouts. it was their last play. they were 45 yards from the endzone...of course you throw into heavy coverage! you throw the hail mary!!! you dont dick around in the pocket and get stripped. 5 steps, pause and let it go...give your team that slim chance to win. yu dont set up anything, when the entire defense is waiting in the endzone. thats why its a hailmary. they werent about to methodically drive with 35 seconds, 2 times outs, and 80 yards to go. they got the ball to a range where warner could reach...and then he danced with the ball too long.
I think even with the pass being ruled incomplete that the Cards would have still lost but to me that ball shot forward and I didn't see anyone punching it out but Warner forcing it forward.
