Lol, thanks to all the guys who posted on here tonight, debate, and non debate, but I appreciate all the comments. Let's keep the Magic going, regardless. We're not here to go home early and look at the other teams and how well they do, we're here to see how well we can do against our adversaries. Let's go Magic!
Why is some assistant coach drawing up the last play in overtime instead of the "Coach of the Year"? Mike Brown was literally just standing around saying "Oh no LeBron... what do I do?!?"
Magic..... overtook ....... Cleveland........ a beautiful thing............ let's keep it going on Thursday.......... I'm sayin if we don't act now, we're gonna be watching the Finals from a couch. Let's keep it going Magic! But I can also say, if this series doesn't go 7 games, I won't lose any sleep, 'cause I expect that to happen.
I have never got to see one of my favorite pro teams win a championship. I've liked the Magic since they were created in 89, which is longer than I've liked the Dolphins (since 1995 i think). It would be crazy awesome to see the Magic win it all this year. Knock on wood.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are just another in a long line of failed Cleveland teams. Obviously the Cavs should've won it all this year, but they are going down in flames. Well, at least it will be good for law and order in Cleveland. No doubt the thugs that are taking over Cleveland were looking forward to a Cavs title to do more of their thuggery. Anyway, I told you in threads in the past that the Cavs would choke. no Cleveland team will ever win again. Sorry. We're a loser town. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/05/cavaliers_fans_still_faithful.html
i dont wish bad things on their fans since i grew up in ohio. but this victory is particularly satisfying for me because LeBron knocked my HS out of the state finals in consecutive seasons. just a thought.....but but awesome would it be if lebron came to orlando to play with dwight after next season. dwight + lebron + hedo + rashard + jameer = best team ever.
hmmmmmmm... let me see.... how does this sound.... LE-CHOKE.....Lechoke.......Lechoke. I told you all so. You guys could be getting rich with my series analysis...but instead...some of you decided to argue on behalf of the "king". NEVER...EVER...compare this ***** to Dwyane Wade. Just do NOT do it. what am I going to do with all this new money? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why, because a Dwayne Wade led Heat team has never made it past rd 1 of the playoffs when he didn't have HOFer Shaquille O'Neal on his team?
I think what seperates them is this. In the closing seconds there is absolutely no way Wade is passing the ball off. I've seen Lebron make the pass instead of taking the shot a lot of times. It's not that either way is better, there are times for both, but to me Wade is more willing to accept the responsiblity for what happens win or lose. As for how far the team goes, Wade and Lebron are only one player on the team. Lebron has a lot better (and more experienced) team around him as well. If you switch them, there probably isnt too much difference.
You make it sound as if Lebronze is leaps and bounds better than Wade, which he isnt. IMO there isn't alot of seperation between the top 3 in the NBA
I agree with that fully. To me it's Kobe, Wade, Lebron in that order. Kobe is just amazing, I can't remember which game it was vs Denver, but in crunch time he threw up a contested three pointer. It went in without touching the rim and maybe not even the net. He's just amazing.
The difference between Wade and LeBron is this: if you needed one for a single do or die game, you'd probably take Wade. If you were deciding which you should build a franchise around, you'd take James.
Lebronze James CLASSIC!!!!! The Cavs are not that deep and they do not match up well with the Magic. Can't pin this on Lebron, heck the Heat won 15 games an entire season with Wade starting for more than half the season. Am I the only person that can't stand Dwight Howard? I love his game but he seems like an annoying nitwit, always complaining, throwing his coach down the drain, throwing elbows and always taking credit for everything like he owns the team or something.. I'd by lying if I said I wouldn't take him on the Heat in a heartbeat, but he annoys the living **** out of me.
Interesting, I never got that impression of Dwight, especially him taking credit for everything. I've always felt that he speaks the truth and talks what he feels but I don't recall him taking credit for stuff. He's a bright and good guy IMO. Then again, maybe I got the wrong impression.
Most definately didn't mean to come across that way. You have me confused with the media outside of So Fl.
WRONG. As a rookie he led the team LITERALLY (he had a buzzer beater and another late game flourish) to the second round and then Pushed #1 seed Indiana to 6 games. As a second year player....that HOF center missed an entire second round series. Result? Wade led the team to a sweep of Washington. and of course...while Shaq was averaging 12 ppg with 6 reb's against Dallas....SOMEBODY was averaging 36 ppg and winning series MVP. So..........you swung and missed.
I don't know, I wouldn't say he takes too much credit, he was talking about how great of a team they are last night, and his complaining about the coach seemed to work out for the best. But then again, I'm a big Magic fan.
Oh ****ing please. Dwight is on the negative side of so many BS calls, and he essentially has to pray to god(Stern) every night that he just gets the blatant ones called. Everybody knows that the "tactic"(pathetic) against Howard is to try and foul the **** out of him, and when he has to sit there and watch LeBron James tomahawk chopping him in the entire upper body and getting it called a clean block...then he turns around and makes one of the best blocks I have ever seen against LeBron himself...clearly with not one bit of contact & a referee standing right ****ing there- FOUL - 3 FTs! What about Mo Williams throwing a basketball at him, once again with a referee in perfect position, watching the whole thing - NO TECH.....Howard gives a fist pump after making an amazing 3pt play against Verajao who failed miserably at tackling him - TECH on Howard...... It's absurdly hilarious for you to come into a Magic thread to tell us how much Howard annoys you for complaining about calls. It's almost as funny that you criticize him for "calling out the coach", meanwhile ignoring the Wins/Losses since that "incident" & Howard's intensity since then. I don't think he needed to handle that in the media, and Howard has since said the same thing and apologized for it. Just give it a rest already.
Woah!! Settle down Beavis. I think you need one of these: Like I stated I love Howard and would take him in a heartbeat on the Heat. I just don't like his whiny attitude. He is still young and immature IMHO. For a young kid he is having a dominant season, but my personal feelings for him have soured.
Picture smack & cliches are so elite. Hopefully one day I can be just as witty. Like I stated, I only took issue with you coming into our thread declaring how annoying Howard is because of his "whining". What the **** do you expect someone to do when they are being reamed constantly by the officials. I put out a few blatant examples as to why he is justified in his emotional behavior. I agree much of his reactions has to do with his age/immaturity, but that doesn't excuse the situations that have rocked his composure at times. I really don't think it matters in the least that a Heat fan has "soured feelings" on the Orlando Magic's Center...Especially when said person is condemning the man(calling him Kid is a cheap shot) for whining all the while not even giving consideration to the atrocious officiating that has incited the behavior. There has also been overly aggressive behavior in just about every series so far, yet you call out Howard's personality & actions as if he is the devil incarnate bringing forth the apocalypse.
I remember when Shaq was on the Magic squad, and every teams strategy was to foul him, 'cause he couldn't shoot free throws for ****. I think teams try that with Howard too. It's gotta be frustrating for players to be hanging all over you trying to get a foul, 'cause they figure you might miss at least one, instead of going in for the grand slam.
Don't worry, when you get a bit older you'll start calling 23 year olds kids. Nothing cheap about that intended. I don't know how you can imply that I'm calling him the devil incarnate by my original post. As someone that doesn't have the NBA ticket, I've probably watched more Magic games during the playoffs than I have all season.. And before the playoffs I had a very positive attitude about Howards personality, not just his game.. As these playoffs wear down, I've seen an immature and whiny side to him that I didn't know existed, hence the shift in my attitude. Again, it doesn't mean I don't like him - I'd trade the entire Heat roster with the exception of Wade for a player of his caliber. I just find him to be, well annoying at times. The same way someone may find Kobe annoying.
First off, I don't see why you keep interjecting this with the whole "i like him as a player" shtick, because I havn't said a word about his ability when responding to your posts in this thread. I am only taking issue with your condemnation of his "personality", i.e. his "whining". You still are ignoring the fact that he isn't simply whining to get calls, he is perturbed about some of the worst officiating I have ever seen along with getting caught up in the moment of an intense playoff series. Once again, if you have been watching these playoffs as a whole, you would have noticed this kind of behavior happening all over the place. Yet in those cases, they haven't been put in the same situation as Howard at all, not even close. Referring to him as a kid is a cheap shot no matter how you cut it. Anyone who has simply looked at him can grasp the fact that he is a grown man. He is older than most college graduates & the only reason for someone to attempt to argue that he "is a kid", is someone trying to take him down a peg. Also, he is far more humble than you have given the man credit for. In the same instance that he was upset about not getting the ball in the 4th Quarter, he was also giving a piece of his mind about getting other players in the game who had been performing well. You keep acting as if he is up in arms every time something doesn't go his way. That is a whiner(Verajao). Howard has been singled out by the officials, and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that a 23 year old man could have emotional reactions in such a dire atmosphere.
I call D-Wade a kid, do you think I'm disrespecting him even though I have a huge man crush on him? This type of whining is tiring when it comes from the fans as well, Howard is a monster and the play is going to be more physical. The same thing happened to Shaq, the same thing happened to Zo, the same thing happened to Ewing. At the end of the day the bickering and calling out his coach down 3-2 is irrelevant as his talent on the court has nearly propelled Orlando to the Finals. And that is what people are going to remember.
