I agree with Jermaine O neal, I do like their odds. the one thing that team needs is a secondary ballhandler as a SG to help out Calderon. If any team decides to pressure them theyre dead because Calderon is the only 1 of their starting 5 who can really take care of the rock. They should be looking for a way to get a decent SG. If they do I like that team to make a deep run. Bosh is an elite talent you can build a team around and I have been a Calderon supporter for years. That dude is the next Nash minus the 3 point prowess. They should roll with: Calderon Parker (until they get something better) Kapono/Bargnani Bosh JON
Lakers' Lamar Odom unhappy with idea of being sixth man - Los Angeles Times I actually thought it might be a good idea to bring Odom off the bench to anchor the 2nd unit. Bring Ariza out at SF to start since he's a much better man defender at the SF position and let Odom handle the boards later. Still would prefer to find a replacement for Ronny though.

Maybe when Avery Johnson whacked his nuts, Josh Howard was replaced by an idiot. I guess maybe Avery does this more than often. I can understand then why the players wanted him out. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLV3a4CgYLE]YouTube - Avery Johnson Cup Check[/ame]

I feel sorry for Curry. I mean how sad is it that Jerome James is more in shape than you are? Better get the bucket ready.
Bulls Rose Impressing Baylor Says Dispute Made Him Leave Oden Impresses In Debut Tinsley Trade Between Pacers and Nuggets Halts Wizards Jamison Has Knee Contusion Colangelo Thinks Bargnani Is Better Than Gallinari
Baylor is a very underrated GM and I don't think anyone knew that Brand would stab him in the back ala Boozer (though I guess that's typical of Dukies). I would not be surprised if he didn't find another job elsewhere in the league, possibly right across the hall.
Baylor has been pretty horrible for most of his run w/ the Clippers. Besides, Dunleavy has been taking control of that team for awhile now, Baylor didnt have a real role to play anymore.
Basketball is basketball man. Beasley, Diawara and Wade are all looking good out there. Diwara is playing some good defense while Beasley is shooting 18 footers and Wade is doing everything like usual. They're looking good out there. The Nets are running an NBA spread offense and its working ok. Devin Harris has made a couple nice cuts while Carter dribbled for five minutes. They're turning the ball over though.
Damn, Sean Williams just blocked Wade. Planted the ball up on the backboard lol. Can't believe the Nets wanted to move him. EDIT: Chris Douglas-Roberts is looking pretty good out there for the Nets. The Heat are having some trouble with turnovers atm.
Wade has dropped some 3's in this game... I REALLY hope he gained more confidence and saw what a 3 can do for his game while in China this summer. Its obviously a little further back... but if he starts taking it more and gaining confidence in it... it could be HUGE for his game... It just forces defenders to not play off him as much... which will allow him to blow by them easier...
I think you'll see Wade shoot more threes this year. I'd be surprised if he didn't because he has improved it and it showed in China like you said.
Ya... and he may also be focusing on improving it to help conserve his body from the pounding he takes while slashing...
Thanks to DM for the great sig work man. I love it lol. Good point. What I wonder is if the team plans on resting him more during games.
The nets are just dumb if they leave Sean Williams on the bench. According to an article in the Bergen Record earlier this week, Williams may not be included in what might be a 10 man rotation. The guy is Ben Wallace with a better offensive game. They would have to be absolutely blind to not see that. Pure energy and defensive prowess with a sparkplug mentality. I would absolutely love for this guy to be a Knick (wont happen but Id still love it).
I can't imagine him not being included nor do I buy it. He has good athletic ability, can get up and down the court quickly and is probably their best defensive player. I think the comparison to Ben Wallace is a fair one but I don't think he's very far in his offensive game (but is indeed better than Wallace at it). He's a complete monster blocking-wise lol. Before he got kicked out of BC I think it was, the guy was averaging five blocks per game.
Williams definitely should be playing at least as a backup to Boone. Nets have a glut of PF/C's right now. I remember hearing his name being bantered around as possible Laker targets over the radio since if Nets want to trade him, they'd prefer out of conference. Yea he has a better offensive game than Wallace but so do a bunch of 4th graders.
Yes it was BC. He may not be very far in his offensive game but in the off season he reportedly was not only well behaved doing everything the coaches asked him to do but also added a jump hook to his repertoire. The problem is hes much better then Boone. Boone has a limited offensive game too, cant shoot a FT to save his darn life, and isnt close to the defensive presence Williams provides. Additionally, Williams provides an element of intimidation teams crave. At the very least he should be getting 25-30 minutes a night if not starting.
Didn't see the jump hook today but I did see the turnaround jumper. He made one but was called off. I still think he has a lot to improve on. He's raw offensively.
He does have a lot to improve on. But theres also a lot he does very well. IMO, its a case where the good outweighs the bad. I dont believe that as long as Carter and Harris are healthy the nets will struggle to score points. If all Williams contributes is a ton of cheap layups and hustle points that may be all the Nets need from their C position to justify him seeing a large role.
Either way, Nets need to offload one of their bigs because as it stands, they're gonna be in cap trouble. Any one of Yi Jianlian, Brook Lopez, Sean Williams, Ryan Anderson, Josh Boone, Stromile Swift that are cut or traded I hope the Lakers pick up (hopefully, Williams or Boone).
I think theyre going to view Yi, Williams and Lopez as long term keepers or at least thats the logical point of view. Anderson and Swift are ok, nothing special. Boone would probably be best for the LAL since he most similarly fills Turiafs role.
I don't see Yi going anywhere because he improves their fanbase. The Nets president made a statement about how Yi's arrival has added a new fanbase of Asians. I don't like him though, looking at him as a player.
I consider Josh Boone a better man to man defender especially on the perimeter against C/PF's who can shoot outside shots and though he doesn't exactly provide the shot-blocking capabilities Williams has, he's still an underrated one. And he has less baggage than Williams, has more hustle, and has a better bball IQ. That could be why he's getting more time. I thought so too but they'll still be eating that big cap hit if they cut him. No one in their right minds would trade for Swift (unless it's the Nets).
Either way, someone's got to go soon if they really plan on any 2010 cap space. Vandeweghe really likes Boone though I'd love to see him in a Laker uni because he'd be the perfect replacement for Turiaf. It certainly does. If we weren't already popular with Asians, we might've even gave him a look.

Warriors Suspend Ellis For Off-The-Court Injury Warriors Point Guard Monta Ellis has been suspended 30 games due to an off-the-court injury that sidelined him till December. This comes after the Warriors elected not to suspend him when they were initially asked about it. The 30 game suspension is not the big issue for Ellis in this situation because he was not expected back by December 17th, the day he would come back. The issue is that Ellis will not be paid during the 30 game suspension. Had he not been suspended, he would have been paid while sitting out.
