I read a report the other day, probably should have posted it but forgot. Anyway, it was talking about how Donnie Walsh is considering keeping Marbury this year and seeing what he can do for them. I don't know if they will do that with Duhon now there under contract.
I know what he;ll do for them....lol. The same crao he has been doing play like crap and tank on his plays.
A minor version of Turiaf. Not as smart on the court and not as good a blocker or passer but I guess he's cheap and still brings hustle. Really, there's not much to choose from though I wish we could've landed Skinner. Damn the Warriors and their overspending. No doubts there. Bryant's like a god to Chinese b-ball players and you can bet a lot of Chinese people will be watching the Lakers especially with the addition of Sun Yue.

Bryant was quoted as saying D'Antoni was "He's just incredibly sharp. He's a brilliant, brilliant basketball mind. He's going to bring a system and now you just have to find players to plug into that system."
Might've liked Finley but just too old for the team. Well, now that D'Antoni's no longer part of the Phoenix Bums, Kobe certainly feels better about his former idol.
So it appears the NBA is having a serious problem with guys taking overseas contracts. I think this has to do with the global appeal of the game and just the nature of the game itself. I wonder what David Stern thinks about this...
I think he's a little bit worried because some of the good role players are leaving. But I don't think he's too worried because these players that don't have that big of a marketing impact as say Kobe Bryant or a LeBron James. If he sees one of those types of stars leave the NBA then he should be worried. The thing about these overseas contracts is that after every year of the contract, the player has an opt-out option and can come back to the NBA. Also, many of these deals are between 1-3 years.

Headlines Timberwolves Unveil New Uniforms The Timberwolves unveiled their uniforms on Monday. The uniforms are part of the 20th season anniversary and the re-branding of the franchise. Here's a look at the new uniforms. Other key information from the new design: Other NBA notes are that Kirk Snyder is unlikely to re-sign with Minnesota, Theo Ratliff signs a one-year deal with the 76ers, and Ben Gordon isn't likely to go to the Heat.
They look like a kid took a box of crayolas and blindly took two crayons out and started drawing. Bad at best....
Man if those are Minny's "improved" ones I can't wait to see OKCs... Maybe they'll be as good as Charlotte's /sarcasm

Heats Wade Hungry After Being Written Off Heat Guard Dwyane Wade can't understand why people wrote him off after he suffered numerous injuries last year. Wade was quoted as saying "being injured, it was like I had forgotten how to play basketball. But it made me hungry. And it put me back in the position where I’ve always been. And that’s the underdog."
Neither would be terrible, but I have no clue how they could ever get Randolph considering his salary and their cap space. Z-MoWilliams-Bron-Randolph-Sasha? (SG?)
Headlines Hornets Get New Logo and Uniform The New Orleans Hornets revealed their new logos and uniforms today. Logo Jerseys: Livingston Still Working Out The Orange County Register is reporting that former Clippers first rounder Shaun Livingston is still working out and hopes to be signed by a team. O'Neal has been working out every day, trying to revive his career. All the naysayers who are saying that I lost a step, they'll get a full dosage of me next year." 76ers Hope To Keep Miller Around The Philadelphia 76ers are hoping to extend PG Andre Miller's contract. Miller has one year and $10 million dollars left on his current deal. 76ers GM Ed Stefanski hopes to add a "year or two" on his current deal. Same here. They said that they wanted to make these uniforms to represent the past, present and future of the team. I think they did a good job of that with these new uniforms.
Jerseys look pretty darn good. Manage to incorporate New Orleans into their logos and their Charlotte roots. Always liked the stripes even though I didn't like the team.
I know I haven't posted anything recently in here but there hasn't been much big news. Darius Miles has took another step in to his comeback, signing with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics also signed J.R. Giddens to a contract. The Magic are getting new uniforms on September 23rd. They will be going back to the blue uniform with white stripes on it. Shaq got a restraining order after he was caught stalking a boy band singer and finally, Jason Kidd has retired from USA basketball. He will continue his NBA career with the Mavericks though.
I know. Where the hell've you been? Jerk. And whoa on the Shaq news. I know he's been depressed about his marriage but stooping that low? And link?
I'll dig up a link for you, give me a minute or two. I'll probably edit the post so check back. EDIT: http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/123808 I was wrong about the boy band, it was a girl that goes by the name of Maryjane.
lol, sounds more reasonable I guess. Shaq stalking a boy band singer reeks of tabloid fodder. Funny if true though.
Grizzlies Sign Iranian Big Man Earlier in the thread, I posted some stuff on the Iranian Center Hamed Haddadi. Now, he's an NBA player. After getting clear of immigration hurdles, he's a Memphis Grizzlie. He's 7'2, around 260 pounds and has a good left hook. He's pretty good offensively. He shoots as far as about 16-18 feet and can occasionally hit the three ball. He's got a good hook. On defense, he can block shots but I haven't seen much more. He's still a project at 23 years old but the Grizzlies may have a nice big man duo with him and Marc Gasol. Haddadi is likely one of the reasons the Grizzlies are shopping Darko Milicic. Warriors Offense Undergoing Changes? Warriors PG Monta Ellis recently suffered an ankle injury and will likely miss up to a month of action. He may miss part of training camp. With this injury, the Warriors are looking to open up their offense. They are hoping to create more shot opportunities for Corey Maggette and Stephen Jackson. Another one is Andris Biedrins. They are hoping Biedrins can take on a bigger role. Nash Has Questions About Changes Two-time MVP Steve Nash is questioning the Suns new plan of him playing less minutes and less games. Nash says he would love the rest but doesn't know if the team is good enough to get into the postseason. When asked if Pheonix was good enough for Nash to sit 12 games in the regular season, he responded with " I don't know. Probably not. There's no probably about it." Knicks Trade For Patrick Ewing In a trade for symbolism, the Knicks swapped Frederic Weis with Patrick Ewing Jr of the Rockets. Ewing is a longshot to make the roster after being the 43rd overall pick in this years NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings.
