Yes it is, but I don't necessarily think the problem lies with the organization. You could have a dozen dietary professionals on staff, but the player himself has to be dedicated to following proper training and nutritional channels. There's only so much an organization can control, especially during "off" time. And you have the confines of a CBA that puts more of the responsibility on the players themselves.

I get that, but when it comes to a professional athlete basically breaking down on a sideline about how disgusting he feels, and that he has no energy to play in the moment, and that he has to stop eating like sh&$,and he follows that up with being a bust and released, I'm saying that in all likelihood, something has gone wrong within the structure of your strength and nutritional program and probably, there wasn't the attention to detail or awareness that you are referring to, what I'm sayin is, something wasn't right, so it would be not only refreshing, but imperative to our success if our new staff gets it..

I thought DJ was making perfect sense. Too bad you were too obtuse to understand it.

Well, thank you for saying so, but why is it nice for DJ and myself when you are being obtuse?

I think he can be a little depressing, always with a pessimistic outlook on every question.

Not sure why it's a surprise.
He didn't read or react to defenses very well at the NCAA level.
Hopefully he eventually comes around, but I've never been convinced he will.

All coaches had weights and body fat percentages. Well maybe not Cam Cameron. Ronnie Brown had 3 different coaches, two of them were known to talk about being the correct weight. The idea that the current coaching staff is the first to put up the idea is laughable.

Mentioning Ronnie Brown didn't make any sense because he was coached under Saban and Cameron. Saban did preach weight and body composition. I know Sparano did as well. This isn't new at all.

Ronnie brown was mentioned to demonstrate that what your saying to be true about all coaches, is not, I said nothing of the sort that our staff is the first, why I said what I said is because while maybe every coach is having their players lift weights, (duh), I'm not sure most have a systematic approach to the problem that includes discipline, proper nutrition education, and most importantly, a monitoring protocol..

Telling uneducated players to meet a certain weight isn't going to cut it, they could be losing the weight the wrong way which could be screwing up their body composition and making them worse in the long run..With the current epidemic of players having to retire early, players not making weight clauses, players getting cut in their primes, players completely underperforming their potential, players not understanding the importance of performance relative to body composition, I would say its not as cut and dry as you are implying.

You have to remember where some of the dudes are coming from, a lot of them have no clue about how to eat right, their used to very poor eating habits from when they were born, very poor, they just so happened to have freak bodies and metabolisms that mask the problem, but really all their doing is cheating themselves out of money, longevity, and ultimately your teams success.

No one knows what kind of programs the teams in the league are implementing, what kind of true education is going on, but when we see examples like Ronnie brown and Vernon Carey on our own team, we know there must be some that don't have a fu&$ing clue..
