Well this is the worst news I've heard in awhile:

BREAKING NEWS: No More Shady For Obie Trice

It seems like we have heard the last from Obie Trice on Shady Records. In a new song, "The Giant", Obie raps about being a free agent.

"Well, no more Shady. Guess it was meant // for me to branch off from my caucasion friend," he raps. "Nope, no more 2nd place to Eminem // question if i was 2nd is the question to many men // no disrespect to Em, he's first // anything after, research the verse's."

I always liked Obie, especially over dre and ems beats. I hope he at least signs to a good label.

 

Damn.

What does he mean by that? He callin Em the best rapper?

on Shady I guess. I think he means Em is only looking out for himself. I really dont care I just think it sucks hes leaving.

 

Ooo ok. Yeah but they'll be fine. Did he mention if he will have his last say in any of Em's new songs off the album?

 

why you disappointed by that? now he can probably release albums on a regular basis

 

Bc I dont think he'll get as good of beats after he leaves Shady.

eh Bun-B, Slim Thug and Scarface are really the only ones that stand out on that list.

Mike Jones, Lil Flip and Keke are all ****. Seriously, most of us on this thread could probably write better songs.

 

Mike Jones is one of the worst rappers. I have no clue how he made it. He reminds me of Boosie, they all repeat the same ****.

 

I would actually say Flip is worse just bc of his annoying interviews. His music is *** obviously too.

 

chamillionaire is the best in the south, he shouldn't even be in the same name as mike jones, slim thug, lil flip, or keke....

 

Bun-B and Luda > Chamillionaire. I would even say the Slim Thug is really close with him too. Already Platinum is a real nice album.

 

ah i forgot about luda...bun b is a little worse than chamillionaire imo.....south is garbage anyway i only listen barely 2 artists...

 

I agree, I cant stand 90% of the south. But I think Bun is money.

Yea, Id put him ahead of Chamillionaire but not Bun or Luda. I just really think Cham and TI are both pretty overrated. TI has a few solid songs tho.

 

I like Bun and TI equally. Luda is probably on top of the list for me. I don't like Chamillionaire in his solo songs. When he makes a song with another artist, he comes out good.

 

i love south rap. TI and cham are two of my favorites. "Industry Groupie" cracks me up every time.

 

Nas dropped a ****ing classic!

It leaked. Not the grouprip, but it's perfect quality - kind of like when Tha Carter III leaked.

I listened to it without skipping a single track. On first listen, it has the potential to be a classic.

 

About halfway through, I gotta say I really dont like it so far besides Hero.

After my first listen:

I'm pretty disappointed with the new Nas if this is it. The first half of the album is pretty bad IMO. The second half is better but def not great. Seems like he had a lot to say, but really did a bad job of putting it into verses. Also, the production of this album is not as good compared to his older stuff or Hip Hop is Dead.

Just my opinion, but after all the talk and anticipation, I really expected a hell of a lot better.

 

So one says its dissapointing and one says its a classic. Lol, interesting.

 

Dont get me wrong, Im a Nas fan and I like a lot of his music. But this is not what I was expecting. Id say its aright but nothin exceptional. Anyone who gives a shoutout to DJ Kalid and then says Jessica Simpson is so-so, when their married to horseface Kelis loses some serious respect.

I have Jay above all. I like Nas but he really pisses me off with some of his statements and the way he goes about things.

yeah, pac is a little overrated imo its like everyone gets butt hurt when you dont put him number 1...when nas dies he's gonna be the new consensus number 1....no album, NO ALBUM is even ****ing with illmatic...his library of albums are all at least 4/5.....one of the greatest disses, if not the best, best story teller IMO..only flaw is beat selection sometimes

 

i dont let that affect my opinion in there music...game cried on a dating show, but i still love his music so

 

you pretty much stated why I like Jay better. But its a matter of preference. I do agree that Pac is a lil overrated lyricly. He had some damn good beats tho so it def helped out.
