My GTAIV playing has really taken a hit with the addition of the arcade to Phins.com. What does choosing simple but addictive flash games over one of the best video games of our time say about my attention span?

I've been playing the games on the arcade here more than I've been playing GTAIV because I have a short attention span and am easily amused. That and my quest to be KING OF THE ARCADE keeps me up at night.

I beat the game a couple of hours ago. As expected, it was amazing. As mentioned by others, both endings were equally meh. R was better, but not by much. It's a real shame too. I also didn't care for the ambiguity. It didn't seem appropriate considering all the conflicting emotions he had about his work, life, etc... It just felt incomplete.

I didn't San Andreas, so I can't speak to improvements or area's of decline, but I wish there were more RPG elements from SA (seem like fun).

I also wish the weapons selection was better. Also, silencers... Why not? Anytime you're involved in a public shoot out (like Derrick's first mission) the cops get called and it becomes a pain in the *** (4-star rating for me). It would add an element of fun, IMO. Also, more sniper missions. I barely got to use the gun.

The driving as awful. I don't remember vice city that well (the last gta game I played), but the driving is awful. It has a lot to do with camera angles. It's hard to see whats up ahead unless you're toggling R-stick which is a pain. The only car I liked was the Infernus. Is that car available at all besides from Bernie?

My favorite Mission is three leaf clovers (I think it was TLC, the bank robbery). It was epic. Would of like to have played missions using that similar style.

Anyway, loved the game. I'd like to see the next one created after something like The Departed. Set it in Boston (with a fake name) and have the main guy be an informant having to do both (undercover) cop and crook missions. At the end you have to pick which you want to be and play out the last few missions as that side.

I say set the next one in Nebraska, and use the whole state.

    Talk about epic.... and corn.

Next one whould be in Europe or South America somewhere. It would be a little more believeable.

Also, I noticed in the game that there was a serial murderer stalking the city, supposedly killing joggers at the beach. Is there any way to catch that guy? :)

I dont know if I'm the only one that does this..but its easier for me to turn off the console then retry missions. Its such a pain to redo missions with no armor, less ammo..

you know you can dial up certain numbers on your phone for cheats, right?

468-555-0100 I think is the one for weapons and health. It will disable 2 achievements if you're playing a 360, but otherwise they work well.

You can dial up numbers for different vehicles, to reduce your wanted level, to increase your wanted level, health, etc.

Yeh I know...for my first time out though, I'm trying not to cheat. Even though I'm playing a game full of cheating murder and theft.

I managed to get all the way through that mission using only the pistol. It took forever though...

I have yet to use a cheat code... and I really don't plan on trying... With all the money you get from missions though, you can afford guns lol...

SAN ANDREAS was a massive and amazing game. the missions in SA were harder and more frustrating at times. i think there was only 1 or 2 mission i struggled with moderatly in GTAIV. but i liked that you could purchase homes, and goto the gym and lift, further customizing your character. that was a great feature imo. better clothes and bling. it was a few small touches like these, that i think couldve made GTAIV even better. but the missions themselves were better and more fun in GTAIV. a few time related missions wouldve been nice tho. just like 1 or 2.

and the undercover thing seems to be Saints Row's nitch at this point. may not come across cool if GTA "goes there".

yeah, for the first time in the series, for me anyway, the game is fair and reasonable enough that you dont HAVE to use a cheat code.

and one of the big reasons too is the easy cash flow, and the cab factor. I love the cab addition!!!...you now dont have to spend 20 hours over the course of the game driving from point to point, or having to cheat to get the jet pack and saving an hours drive. that was a great move.

I agree, I love the cab addition... Definitely makes things easier than wasting 5 minutes driving somewhere...

Love the cabs. I didn't start using them until 1/2 way through the game. Wasted so much time...

Online play kinda sucks. Why no lobby?

I really enjoyed the country and mountains in San Andreas though. It was a very cool addition. Especially the trailer park community!

it was grande and amazing, but it got on my nerves after a while...when you'd be in muscle beach, and had to drive an hour and a half just to get to a mission out in the boonies. but that game was incredible.
