Welcome to the inaugural GML Expansion Draft Game. The eight of you who have joined are now the General Manager of newly instated Franchises. The other 32 Franchises have given a list of 5 players each that they have left unprotected. It is up to each of you to draft a core in which you will build your team around for the present and future. Will you be successful like the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars or will your expansion franchise follow in the footsteps of the Cleveland Browns. You will all have a cap of $34,000,000 to acquire your players. This makes up 40% of the $85,000,000 salary cap set in the GM League. Along with the players you have acquired in the expansion draft you will also provide your first ever draft pick. You will be paired against an opponent as a competition between the 33rd and 34th GML Franchises respectively. In a predetermined order one team will select first in the expansion draft, while their opponent will have the 33rd pick in the first round of the rookie draft compared to the 34th pick. The rules. 1. Teams have a $34,000,000 cap limit, or up to 14 roster spots (whichever comes first) 2. Teams will pick in an alternate fashion (non snaking draft order.) 3. Maximum of 2 players are allowed to be drafted from the other franchizes 4. Teams you are competing against can not pick the same player as you, but teams who are in another bracket may have a duplicate pick. For example: Boik14 picks Victor Cruz as his fifth pick, he is off the board between Boik14 and Paul13. However this draft pick is independent of another pairing like ToddsPhin vs Fin-Omenal, Big E vs GridIronKing34, Skeet84 vs BuckeyeKing 5. If a team hits their $34,000,000 limit, their opposing general manager will make consecutive picks until they hit their $34,000,000 limit or 14 player limit. 6. After all teams from every pairing has drafted, each team with the 33rd pick will draft their rookie followed by the teams holding the 34th pick. 7. Teams will provide a short write up on their core and reasoning for the way they drafted their expansion team. 8. A vote will be held between a committee of 3 to 5 members to determine which teams will move on from their pairings. 9. Teams who have lost the previous round will be eligible to vote for teams in the following round. 10. A champion will be crowned between the NFC and AFC bracktes. 11. Winner receives a $25 E-Gift Certificate to NFL.com NFC Bracket Skeet84 vs BuckeyeKing | ToddsPhins vs Fin-Omenal AFC Bracket Boik14 vs Paul13 | Big E vs GridIronKing34 First Pick in the Expansion Draft: Skeet84, Fin-Omenal, Boik14, BigE 2012 Rookie Draft Selection #33: BuckeyeKing, ToddsPhins, Paul13, GridIronKing34 Judges: SICK | Vengeful Odin | Machivelli | schisno Draft Tracker Boik14 vs Paul 13 1. Let's Draft!!! Skeet84, Fin-Omenal, Boik14, Big E if the four of you would like to select your first picks, then your opponents will follow suit and alternate between the two of you.
Hopefully not too long, but since it's a draft between two people I don't think you guys should take any longer than 15-30 minutes between picks if you really want to think that long and hard. In the real expansion drafts the time limit is 3 minutes.
The talent here is sparse but with the 1st pick in the expansion draft the New York Panhandlers select Daryl Washington LB $490,000
PMs have been sent out, so we'll see which of the four will pick first. Now remember you don't have to wait for the others, you just have to worry about you and your opponent alternative expansion draft picks.
you can pick now, basically its a draft battle between you and ToddsPhins whereas since Boik14 picked, it's now on Paul13 for their draft.
I think we'll just draft the first rounder, we'll consider that draftee the David Carr of your respective teams. A cornerstone/franchise player of sort. The first expansion draft pick is your Tony Bosselli or Steve Beurelein. The judges will base on a small segment of where you're going with the franchise. If we do this again we can expand it, keep the eye on the prize that eGC to NFL . com
Hmm someone agreed with me Im thinking make the draft 3 or 5 rounds deep to get some impact players for each team....For instance, each team will get a Luck or Griffith but no Matt Kalil? No Quinton Coples?
yup, he was my pick from the get go. Great minds think alike. Non great ones start off with a LB not named Washington.
Well you guys will have to continue after where the mock draft left off for you pick, but we can maybe go 3 rounds deep IF someone wants to mock each round after.
Some high priced players gotten taken early. Teams need a shutdown corner, so here's banking on some of those experienced guys can help out a new franchise in a passing league.
