Official Florida Gators thread No 2

Florida will play Michigan on Sept 2nd 2017 in Arlington, Texas.

Also the Gators are working on scheduling a Neutral site game with the Miami Hurricanes in 2022 or 2023.

Coleman Hutzler will replace Jeff Choate at Florida. Choate coached Special teams and Outside Lb's. Hutzler coached the same positions at New Mexico. Hutzler was at Florida in 2011 as an assistant coach.

Looks like Clay Helton will be staying at USC.

I am anxious to find out who will be the new OC. I do hope they move quickly after the bowls so any recruits that are on the fence can make up their mind... Gatorsports is saying the OC from Duke is the main target. Did not watch any Duke games, anyone have knowledge of their o?

It's unclear who the main target is at this time. He is was in Gainesville yesterday but Muschamp said they have not offered the job to anyone yet. I think they are doing some interviews at this time. Major Applewhite may be an option too.

ESPN is reporting that we will hire Kurt Roper as offensive Coordinator later this week.

What are you thoughts on him? I did not see any Duke games, so only going by stats... Somewhat impressed. Ranked in the high 40s (44 and 47) in the nation in total offense and pts scored. On a team that does not get the same kind of recruits that UF gets. Here's hoping he can be the creative spark this team needs on O.

I honestly don't watch many Duke games either. The only thing I can say about this is I have a great respect for David Cutcliffe. If he learned from him that is a plus in my book. I will certainly be watching Dukes final game vs Texas A&M on Dec 31st. A&M defense is awful. Just awful.

Florida Gators to hire Stacy Searels as OL coach. He has coached at Georgia, LSU, and he coached Texas OL last year. He went to Auburn. Safe to say he is familiar with the SEC.

Mike Summers is the new OL coach!

Muschamp announced Monday that he has hired Mike Summers as offensive line coach. A native of Kentucky, Summers has SEC and NFL experience after spending last season at USC. Summers will rejoin former Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips at Florida.

Phillips hired Summers as offensive line coach/run game coordinator at Kentucky in 2010 when he took over the program. The Wildcats averaged 6.1 yards per carry in Summers’ first season, the second-best mark in the program’s history.

Went to post this news after I was done playing basketball but you beat me to it by an hour.

Heard a lot of the OL recruits speak highly of Summers already so that's good.

The early enrollee will step foot on campus Monday, according to multiple reports.

Really shocked that he flipped to Florida. Playing time was obviously the big factor. When he enrolls on Monday it's official so no waiting til signing day.

Brandon Powell who is an Early Enrollee will decide tonight or tomorrow on whether to enroll at Florida or Miami. He is currently committed to the Hurricanes. Gators offered him a Scholarship yesterday.

4* CB Chris Lammons has decommitted from Florida. Jalen Tabor commitment is why this happened. For a lot of recruits it's about playing time.

Ermon Lane decommitted today. It had been anticipated for a very long time. He will probably go to FSU with Dalvin Cook.

After the news of Lanes decommittment Gators committ Quincy Wilson posted this on twitter.

Have to say I am a little bummed about it. With the new offense, have to wonder if Taylor ends up the starter just bc Matt won't get the practice reps that Taylor does.

Muschamp just flipped Thomas Holley. Seems he is really on a roll! Really impressive considering the season we just had.
