Its not the DET deal.....I am saying come Trade Deadline all the OTHER deals that maybe made out of their disappointment could indeed be BAD decisions following BAD decisions (which I agreed with Mainge is the Bell Contract, etc).

I am expecting based on the rumors of who is on the block from MIA, could produce bad decisions.

You're the team paying Alex Rodriguez 20 plus million for the next 6 seasons to be average.

He made one financial mistake this off season. Reyes and Buehrle were not mistakes. Bell was.

Just saying I think Loria (got out of his comfort zone this offseason) and now since he doesnt think it worked, and was a smart decision, he may OVER REACT and ship off a lot more without getting proper return.

Compounding one mistake for another in the attempt to simply change for change sake....no patience.

    I've seen this movie before.

You haven't paid much attention if that's what you think. Loria was the driving force behind the Carlos Lee trade at a time when the front office was ready to throw in the towel, which they are now doing.

AROD is your argument? Why is this a Yankee issue?

I am discussing Loria's M.O. and comfort zone....he was out of his element this off season, I think this is proof of it, and the reaction is funny.

You think the Carlos Lee trade defends Loria???

I think it could be a baby ripple compared to the potential wave that's coming!

Again, not a salary dump. That's the movie you've seen before. This time it might be best for the team. If that means trading him, they should.

The reaction is necessary not funny.

We traded Sanchez, who was going to walk, and Infante, who's value was at his highest. Hanley, who's under achieving, and Choate, a relief pitcher, are next.

I suppose you could be laughing about the JJ rumors but they're doing what they feel is best.

The A-Rod comment was just to poke fun. Relax.

Let me ask, who really has the power and sage advice in the MIA FO? Who is really calling the shots? I really dont know...curious who it is/thought to be, etc?.

Hopefully Hanley isn't dealt unless it's a great haul.

Does Loria have FINAL say? Is Beinfest his top confidant? his consigliere?

I think from the off season until the Carlos Lee trade, the power was mostly with Loria.

But I think the power has shifted to Beinfest like it was before.

So Beinfest was overruled on the Carlos Lee trade?

Or all moves from offseason to now, its all Beinfest? All his decisions then and now 100% his?

I don't think so. I'm almost positive that the only move Loria really pushed for was Bell.

JJ is off the table....well not really, I think if an amazing package comes through they would deal him, but IMO he stays...he has too...

Bell, if yall want him gone be prepared to pay at least 6 of that a year for the next 2 years....in still I would take him at maybe 1M...that guy is horrible, and the kicker is nobody wanted him in the offseason....The Bell signing was baffling....but not as baffling as if....

they trade HanRam because he is "underachieving"....they will not get good market value for him given all the noise happening the past few years... some team will make out getting him....most likely Boston, who specializes in the "ehhh we will take the guy off your hands no problem" then they go into Fenway and become monsters......

Le Batard is saying that the Marlins have pulled JJ off the market.

I think you're either intentionally missing the point or are just reaching for reasons to complain.

They don't need him or HamRam.....those dudes need pitching....which for the Red Sox to reportedly be on HR is confusing....they are going to hamstring themselves with that contract when hitting isn't even an issue for them UNLESS....

Crawford is involved on the deal....

    Neither!

    I dont see how:

    1) the Carlos Lee trades aides in Loria's image if as you say "Loria was the driving force behind the Carlos Lee trade at a time when the front office was ready to throw in the towel, which they are now doing."....so by stepping in and over ruling on the C. Lee trade he temporarily prevented them in throwing in the towel??

    2) As Mainge is saying, Loria only called the shot on the biggest off season mistake Heath Bell. And Beinfest was over ruled but Beinfest called the shots on Carlos Lee.

    3) Either way, acquiring Carlos Lee should not be used to defend any GM or Owner, etc.

I meant as a free agent during the off season. You said no one but Miami was interested. That's wrong. Boston and Toronto were, too.

Okay, it's clear that you have no idea what I'm talking about, if you think I was trying to defend Loria.

My point was that you should get your facts straight, not that Loria is the greatest baseball owner ever.

Very likely. Which makes me happy, because JJ should only be traded for truly top-shelf stuff.
