Good win! 1-0 without Infante/Sanchez. At this pace we'll make the playoffs!

What a horrible call at first base in the ninth. What a waste of one of Minor's good starts. Huddy will get us back in the W tomorrow even if he's got to pitch a shutout and hit a solo HR.

JJ's best start of the year? With the usual leave the game with an injury scenario, though.

I don't think he was injured but that is pretty funny.

That's what some are thinking. They could have just taken him out because they don't want to risk something before trading him.

Not a fan of giving up Anibal, but we could have done worse.

And I don't see this team trading JJ at all.

I'm a fan of it considering they weren't going to keep him and who we got back. Jacob Turner is a top 25 prospect. That's pretty impressive.

As for JJ, it remains to be seen. For now he's safe, but I could see a team get desperate and offer us something huge. If that happens, he might be gone.

MLBN said it is a possibly last night, and several teams had scouts there for JJ's game yesterday....If the Marlins trade HanRam AND JJ they are braindead...

    Also....

They showed him him in the dugout before he got pulled with some ice and he was rolling it around his finger. It looked like he legitimately had a finger irritation.

So what do ya think Miami fans, you wanna see Ham Ram go?

It would be funny to see Beane pull this off, hey they could be the 2nd WC...not out of the realm of possibility at all and this move could help them as well...

I think last year I would have shared your sentiment, but now I don't feel that way anymore. While he has produced in the past, he has been a disappointment as a "face of the franchise" player. Over the years we've seen him dogging it, fighting with teamates, coaches, and now this nonsense with the fan. If they trade him, I'm perfectly fine with it.

That means to me that they won't let someone like Hanley go without getting something good in return.

On a side not I remember watching the second game of the pirates series and Rich and Tommy were talking about how good the 05 draft (the one that included Mcutchen) was. They showed a graphic that included Mcutchen, Tulo, Upton and others. They then proceeded to say that we had 3 first round draft picks in that draft and took volstad and two other guys I had never heard. That made me very sad.

I'd trade JJ for Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera. Or, in other words, I tell teams calling about JJ to go to hell.

That's a poor way to think.

Also Mainge I might have been wrong about JJ's trade value lol.

Keeping your homegrown top-tier talent for all but the absolute most pressing offer you can't refuse is never a poor anything.

I can't imagine any sort of realistic package in which Josh Johnson gets traded, especially considering the Marlins aren't dumping salary for the sake of dumping salary.

Well apparently his value is still high around the league and we could get a great package for him. I was skeptical about his value at first but looks like I was wrong. If Texas offers a package centered around Mike Olt, that would be tough to say no to.

Why would we give up Josh Johnson for a prospect?

This isn't a salary dump, Anon.

It sure seems to be speaking volumes about their off season decision making....

Loria tried to fool the world into thinking he was something he wasnt, and am sure he is pissed to have made the decisions made. Tiger's cant change stripes and all, etc.!

Some bad decisions, and perhaps by the deadline those will be compounded! Time will tell.

A package of prospects. Highly regarded prospects at that.

It isn't a salary dump. This could be what's best for the team.

Hey, jumping their Opening Day payroll from $56.9 million, seventh-lowest in the majors in 2011 ---- to $118 million, seventh-highest in ’12 isnt all because of the Bell contract.

Sure, but its CHANGE once again is a very short window isnt it? They made the deal with DET because they’re disgusted by their underachieving team (publically saying so), and want to try something different......I get that, but so soon? Again?

They also made the deal because Anibal was walking at the end of the season and they were offered a top 25 prospect.

I'm not sure what you mean by again. I'm hoping you're not assuming this is a Fire Sale.

getting rid of a expiring contract, and a 2B that can be replaced with a top 25 prospect and some other young guys is a great move imo.
