Bonifacio keeping up his pitch selection. He has REALLY developed into a good hitter the last few seasons from a guy most people thought couldnt make it!

We lead the NL in steals and Bonny is tied for first in steals in the NL.

 

Glad to see Mike get the RBI, but he needs to stop swinging at **** on the far side of the plate. Also if he's going to swing at those, he needs to keep his hands back. It looks like he is trying to pull the ball.

 

I put the over/under on steals for Bonifacio this season at 55. He is THAT FAST and THAT GOOD. It will all depend if he can keep getting on base at a good clip.

 

Honestly I did. Not based on any analysis (I was maybe 17?) but just a feeling. Always liked him and thought his game could translate nicely once he gained some experience.

I don't want to make it seem like I'm some baseball scout though. Nothing could be farther from the truth. My feeling on this one just happened to be right.

At the moment Bonifacio is on pace for 94 steals obviously I don't think that will keep up. I'm just a HUGE fan of the "on pace" idea of projecting stats.

Anyway great first inning making Jeff throw over 30 pitches and getting two runs. We put the foot on their throat all game last night and for the first inning we kept it there. That can be demoralizing.

It wasnt really a bad pitch though. Just a bit on bad luck.

 

It was also a really nice hit. Give him some credit. Stanton kicking the ball didn't help.

 

Ricky has to be one of the most inconsistent pitchers ever.

GREAT pick by Hanley at third. I do think he will be much better defensively at the hot corner. As I've said before I think his issue is thinking too much, which he has less time to do at third.

What sucks is Ricky isnt just inconsistent game to game. He is inconsistent batter to batter.

Seriously, Hanley hits bombs, and bunts singles / steals 2nd. Dude is a ****ing stud, and such an all-around great player. He plays to his potential all year, and he wins mvp imo (Especially with Albert in the AL)

 

Listening to the radio call on that Samardija fly out was scary tense until Stanton caught it.
