Here's a better idea: instead of suspending Guillen for his stupid comments, the Marlins should create a "Stupid Comment Jar" (like a swear jar) and every time Guillen says something dumb he has to put money in the jar. The last week of the season, use the money in the jar to put in Jeff Loria's pocket, I mean use the money to treat underpriviledge kids to a ball game, giving them free jerseys, hats etc and after the game have a giant cookout on the field for them with the players and Ozzie cooking the food and playing wiffle ball with them. That way the team is actually doing something good for the community, getting young kids into the sport, and making sure Ozzie doesn't censure himself too much. Again his comments weren't smart to say but is it really worse than the 15 + DUIs players get in during ST and they don't even get a slap on the wrist?

Omar Infante is on pace to hit like 97 home runs. Just saying.

Josh vs Roy tomorrow night should be must see baseball.

JJ versus the Philthies (non-)offense tonight.

    This should be good.

Not doubting the being taken out of context. I'm doubting the excuse.

It doesn't make sense that I don't buy that Ozzie Guillen was thinking in Spanish and speaking in English in this case? Is that really tough to follow?

I don't, but I've coached kids who do, with English being a new language for them and it's a common problem.

Is English a new language for Ozzie? Or has her been speaking it for 10+ years?

Why are those two mutually exclusive? Some of the kids I coached spoke English for similar lengths of time and similar problems arose.

It's still not his native language. I often have the same issues myself when speaking in my non-native languge.

Happened once actually but it was two no hitters, I read about it in sports illustrated.

    http://bill37mccurdy.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/hippo-vaughns-disappointing-game/

In a Bud Selig is an ******* move, a pitcher used to only have to throw 9 no hit innings to get the no-no. So even though he gave up a hit in the 10th he still had the no-no. Then Bud changed it to you had to complete the game with the no-no and his no hitter was posthumously taken away.

If the Marlins have a winning record at the end of the season, I'll gladly eat those words....until then I'll stand by it.

Nice edit. I wasn't aware that I was being an internet tough guy. I was just asking you if you had any empirical evidence to support your stance. I wasn't questioning you, just asking for more information so that maybe I could understand better where you were coming from.

But if you see no need to support your viewpoint with facts or empirical evidence, so be it. How silly of me to ask for that.

so you call someone a "interwebz tough guy" then you (hilariously by the way) call a baseball team a "losing team" 5 games into the season as a "jab" of some sorts towards this "interwebz tough guy" to what? hurt his feelings? make him say "shucks, this is a losing team, oh well, maybe next year" ? I don't understand your motive....unless, wow, now to think of it, it seems YOU are being a .........that's right..........

I have 10 years of working with Vietnamese, Guatemalan, Mexican, Sudanese, and. El Salvadoran immigrants. In my experience across those cultural gaps, they lapse into their native language when they don't know the English word for what they are saying. There is a guy who still says horas instead of hours, there are others who just point, but they generally wait for the word to be spelled or told to them. These people aren't the sharpest tools in the shed either. So based off of my experience the "thinking in Spanish and speaking in English" is a cop out. Now, if Ozzie had a history of mixing his languages as a manager, then I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but as far as I know he doesn't, so I don't.

EDIT: or they get a translator to fill the language gap, or I take one with me so there is no confusion

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. They are from the same area as Yankee fans. So they adopted the Yankee fan persona to imitate the superior Yankees.

    I hate the Yankees.

There's displeasure with a bad start and then there's comedic exaggeration.

    Their Sept 2011 finish.

    Well played.

You sir are correct. I'm going a bit overboard here, simply because my team is driving me insane due to the hangover of last year's finish.
