We need to start winning games by not relying on the HR.....and we need to have our pen (including MO) not give up the HR to lose.

The HR still was the difference, but at least we starting playing hit and run and Captain Jeter drove in the tying run with single....lets continue to get back to being the work the count, moving runners, and clutch hitting bats that started the dynasty run.

If we can get 5 consistent starts and ease the bullpen into a consistent pattern of work its a matter of health for the offense once Posada returns to find their groove.

    Nice win though..nice road trip.

wow what a play by mauer to get gardner out. It was a rookie mistake by gardner, as it would have been guys on 1st and 3rd, one out with Cano up. Hopefully yankees can win it here in the 10th

Its been a great 3 days to watch the yankees play! another great game. I love walk off wins! 5 in a Row!!

Sidenote: 7 years ago today Jason Giambi hit his grand slam in the 13th against the twins, i remember watching that game and it does not feel like 7 years.

And Wang is coming back after solid rehab....if he returns to the arm of the last few seasons....and not the arm of his last few ML starts...I will be quite happy.

Hughes can return to minors and refine.....get a reliable 5 man rotation sliding Pettitte and Joba back to the 4th and 5th arm matchups....woohoo.

Bats play more small ball, and allow the HR to happen (not depend on them) and this hot-streak can very well continue to have an amazing May.

Toronto is off to bad start vs. AL East teams so far...they will come back to the pack.

Scouts who have been at Wang's rehab games have said although his stat lines look good his fastball is still sitting at 88 to 90 mph with very little sink to it.

I'm actually kind of excited for the Joba vs. Aubrey Huff match up tomorrow night, I wonder if Joba is going to send him a message and if not if he strikes him out how he'll react.

I hope Joba is smart and don't do anything to jeopardize his start, and get ejected. I have a feeling he is going to do what he did last time and retaliate by a solid outing...

    That is the best answer...

P.S. Yanks just hit back-to back-to back HRs off Guthrie (Swisher, Cano, Cabrera)

Hughes looks solid, but needs work. Gave up 2 hrs but got 9 K's in 5 innings.

Btw what i love about the yankees this year, is it seems the players are having fun, and are closer then they have been. I think swisher and Burnett has to be thanked for that. They bring the humor with them.

I love watching this team! absolutely love it! Swisher is quickly becoming one of my favorite yankees, Teixeria is growing on me..(i loved Giambi so him replacing him makes me not a huge fan of him)

I hope you Yankee fans are ready for the WORLD CHAMPION PHILLIES this weekend. These are not the Baltimore Orioles that you beat up on every night.

I am predicting TEN homers by the Phillies in this series. It's too bad they have to water things down with the DH and not play real baseball. :wink2:

News: In a radio interview with WFAN radio station in New York, Yankees manager Joe Girardi confirmed that Chien-Ming Wang (hips) will pitch in one more rehab start Friday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre against Red Sox Triple-A affiliate Pawtucket. He could then be activated off the disabled list.

Girardi said he would like to see Wang transfer what he showed in his bullpen session at Yankee Stadium Tuesday into a game. If he does that, he'll be activated. The Yankees want to see more consistency out of his sinker and are waiting for that final confirmation before activating him

The game today was good. I got to the stadium around 3:30 and entered the stadium and went to Monument Park. First off, the new stadium is amazing. I took a lot of pictures as well as videos ill post later. Anyway... Monument Park is real nice, like the old one. I can't wait to go one day and see Bernie's number there as well as his plaque. I can not wait until that day! Anyway... i saw batting practice... Arod looked good swinging, Aj Burnett was pitching to Andy Pettite, Phil Hughes was warming up also. Then Joba went to Warm up. He got out early after being hit by a pitch so i thought we were screwed, but we had a great first inning. 2nd inning was even better as Cano hit a nice home run, which I was so close to it. I taped the game and saw myself and my brother on TV which i thought it was pretty cool! Overall it was a great experience!

btw, the door to the bullpen, which is near monument park, has holes in it, which i found it was because Rivera requested it so he can see monument park, and he can enter the park when he wants. I thought that was pretty cool!

btw Nick Swisher is a fan favorite. Everyone loves him, everyone. The guy is just fun to watch. He keeps the fans entertained in the field. He feeds of the crowed... I absolutely love Swisher! I did not care for him at first, cause i thought he was going to be useless, but they guy is a great player to have on you team.

Yeah, when I went to the Stadium to watch the Cubs exibition game, during monument park tour, they stated that not only did Mo request the holes in the door, but he actually requested the mound to plate be flipped in the Yanks bullpen so that the pitchers mound was closest to Monument park and not home plate so he could walk right out. If you notice, the visitors bullpen is opposite where the catcher is closest to monument park. Pretty cool indeed.

P.S. not getting the W with Joba (and other accounting stats) hurt my fantasy ranking, but as long as he is healthy for next start I am ok. Great W and great roll we are on.

    LOL....

News: The New York Journal News reports that Chien-Ming Wang will be in the Yankees bullpen Friday night against Philadelphia as a long reliever. Wang was slated to pitch a minor league game in Pawtucket, R.I., but was called back Thursday night. The Yankees called him back after Joba Chamberlain was forced out of the game in the first inning due to taking a line drive off his knee. So the Yankees will call up Wang as insurance in the bullpen after having to burn the bullpen in a win over the Orioles Thursday.

Wang's schedule after Friday has yet to be determined, Wang is likely on standby in case Chamberlain's bruised right knee prevents him from making his next scheduled start on Tuesday in Texas, although he says he will make that start. If he does, Wang would likely be slotted into the rotation on Wednesday or Friday, according to the New York Daily News.

Phillies should have swept them....we gave away Game 2, but we got one back in Game 3. Can't be gready!!! Good series. Looks like the Blue Jays are falling apart in the AL East.
