I happen to believe people with potential, the leadership traits, mindset, personality, presense, character will make their own path.

sure there will be some bumps along the way but being a GM is all about projection of Talent.

Thats right, projection of talent, Sean Payton did not make the man Dan Campbell.

just another stupid decision by the front office.

you nor anyone can prove the contrary

Again, I’m not arguing that he’s not a good HC right now. And no one is saying anything about him being a man or not. He learned the craft, in part, from Payton. Do you think he could have been a HC at 6 yrs old? When exactly should a good GM project talent and give a person a HC job? Should a guy people feel good about at 21 years old just be handed the reins of a team and let loose? There is some amount of OJT for being an NFL HC, but less than 5 years of being any sort of a paid assistant in the NFL isn’t enough to become the head dude. Lol…m.

If he had been promoted from intern to HC in a 5 yr period he most likely fails. Hell, McD is 8 years younger and he was an intern 17 years before he became a HC and numerous sorts of other assistants. Mcvay is only 38, yet he spent 10 years as an assistant before he became HC. Again, the debate isn’t whether or not he’s a good HC now, but not promoting a guy to HC after 5 yrs experience as any sort of an NFL coach isn’t stupid. And if you think the Dolphins are stupid for not doing it back then, then you also must think all the other 31 teams are stupid, too.
