Sure it is. You can honestly disagree, but that doesnt make my opinions less objective.

Cole.. It's fine to take a more critical view of the Phins.. Not everybody is a glass full kind.. But I think there's critical.. And there's just stubbornly negative. We try and have a higher standard of posting in this forum.. Otherwise it ends up being a zoo. You have good things to add and offer.. Why not just back off a ledge and retire the sky is falling approach?

I don't believe your preseason analysis coincided with 3 and one with two home games in a row comin up?, but I could be wrong, did you foresee us winning three and one?, and do you think your preseason analysis was on point?

I posted after the first game (perhaps the second) that I was pleasantly surprised. Why do my thoughts about the team bother you more than the teams performance Monday night? ROFL. This is so rich.

The DC coordinator, no less, said his defense sucked, and his coaching sucked. The OC said Mike Wallace had to do better. If they are commenting on it, it looks like my comments were right on the money.

Yeah, prior to the Colts game, you posted you were pleasantly surprised we beat Cleveland. Then during the Colts game, you posted amazing, well thought out things such as "this team sucks" "Tannehill isn't the answer" "DLine is the most overrated unit in the league" and "Brent Grimes is a chump."

Of course, you were no where to be found after we won that game or after we beat Atlanta. You only came out from the shadows after we lost, which probably doesn't surprise anyone.

Because you trash your team in a public forum before they play a game, then you think and act as if you sure about your criticisms, then the team goes out and wins three strait, you don't say sh&$, then they lose one and you sh&$ on them with an attitude like 'I told you so"..... No, you didn't tell me anything accurately thus far, quite the contrary wouldn't you say?

When Colridge got the inspiration for Kubla Khan he was having an opium induced dream. Sort of fits for our latter day Mr Coleridge and some of the things he is inspired to write.

“Swearing is a really important part of one’s life. It would be impossible to imagine going through life without swearing, and without enjoying swearing. There used to be mad, silly, prissy people who used to say swearing was a sign of a poor vocabulary. It is such utter nonsense. The people I know who swear the most tend to have the widest vocabularies, and the kind of person who says swearing is a sign of a poor vocabulary usually have a poor vocabulary themselves. The sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a lack of education or a lack of verbal interest is just a f*cking lunatic. I haven’t met anybody who’s truly shocked at swearing… really. They’re only shocked on behalf of other people. Well, you know, that’s preposterous. Or they say, “It’s not necessary,” as if that should stop one doing it. It’s not necessary to have coloured socks, it’s not necessary for this cushion to be here, but is anyone going to write in and say, “I was shocked to see that cushion there, it really wasn’t necessary”? No. Things not being necessary is what makes life interesting. The little extras in life.” — Stephen Fry

I do think Grimes is a chump. I am not sure RT is the answer....his performance on Monday night didn't do anything to convince me his is. And again, why are you bothered more about my comments than the putrid display of football on Monday night? I didn't throw an INT, fumble, take a stupid sack, call horrible plays, have a bad game....I didn't do any of that.

There is nothing about this team yet that is absolute. Could they make the playoffs? Yes. Could they tank? yes. We don't know. This post addressed Monday nights performance. The OC and DC agreed with me. So I dont need to "tell you so"...the coaches told you so. Obviously, you and others here won't believe me. Will you believe them?

He was also rumored to be chemically induced when he wrote "...Ancient Mariner". But thats missing the larger point of STC. His influence with the German's and his work on Shakespeare is much more his legacy, imo, than either Khan or Mariner, although both are very good. Read Russell Kirk's comments on STC in "The Conservative Mind"...I think its the best summary of Coleridge's work and influence.

"Isn't it ironic, don't you think..." Alanis Morrisette, who ironically wrote a song called "Ironic" with not one irony in it. However, this post about cursing is ironic because it's point is to overlook cursing and the biases against it...and accept and appreciate it for what it is.

Yet, do not say the Dolphins were putrid on Monday night, in a game that their own coaches said was sloppy, poorly planned, poorly executed, and in which they were blown out. It is ironic, I do think.

Everything in Alannis Morrissette's song Ironic was Ironic. lol. There are many types of irony, the word has evolved over the last many centuries.

Please don't base Ireland's career tying it with Tannehills. Ireland is an abject failure already, Nothing can save his job, this has to be his last year as GM. 5 Drafts. One Pro Bowler. Jake Long. Dan Carpenter was undrafted. And they're both gone. Drafting is a key to SUSTAINED success, if you can't draft fairly well you aren't going to have continued success. He seems like a nice guy and I hope he lands a job somewhere in the corporate world, maybe in insurance. But not in the NFL.

Jeff Ireland has his team sitting at 3-1, they are 3-point favorites against the defending SB champions, and people are still calling for him to be fired. Amazing.

I respect if you have an affinity towards the said General Manager but he is not 3-1, his team is actually 38-42 under his reign, I wish we can wipe away all the losses directly attributed to him, but we can't. But hey, if you like the dude, more power to you, I hope he brings us home the lombardi trophy this year. I really do.

I'm in agreement about the attitude the team should have after the loss, they should be pissed as hell, but a season is a long road, and every team will have some emotional bumps ( niners getting crushed at Seattle in their Super Bowl year, ravens getting crushed at texans in the Super Bowl run) and reasons for letting up during a game, I think what's most important is to study the talent and project what it can do when playing well, take into account certain variables that every team will go thru, and let things play out a bit before I criticize in an extreme fashion..

The bottom line is those who did that this offseason were wrong about the team, they undersold them, they didn't support their efforts to become a team on their own, and those folks were wrong, so are we gonna down that road again for the next quarter, or maybe try to figure out what we can do while thinking about what the rest of the league offers in competition, and giving this young team and coaches a fair chance to develop.

Sorry, but that's disingenuous. You can't judge Jeff Ireland based solely on the first four games of this season. Logic and reason would dictate that you have to take his career as a whole to determine if he's a success or a failure at his job.
Now, if this year's team makes the playoffs and wins a game or two, then that affects how his career is judged, but we don't have that data yet.

No, logic and reason would dictate that nobody here has sufficient evidence available to assess the performance of an administrator. Nobody here could even say with any degree of certainty whether Jeff Ireland even has final say over whether offset language will or will not be included in contracts. All of that doesn't even consider the fact that when assessing the team's performance, one needs to remember that the product on the field costs $20M+ less than what it could if they chose to spend up to the cap. I've never actually heard anyone say the team has done a great job creating a low-cost product.

It's the first of a two-book series by Douglas Adams, the guy who wrote "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series of books. The reason I ask is, Coleridge plays a small part in the book.

Nothing in her song was ironic. "Rain on your wedding day, free ride that when you already paid, good advice that you just didn't take"... None of that is irony. Its bad luck. Big difference. But whatever.

Ireland's fate is inexorably tied to Tannehill...that is indisputable. He's already extended, so this won't be his last year. Pay attention, Philly Phin. Geez.

The only ironic thing about the song is that someone would write a song about irony without understanding what the word means.

I agree Rick66, but also I think its fair to say that his first draft was Parcells, perhaps the second one as well. I think Tannehill, and the 12 and 13 drafts and FAs should have primacy over the other years.

I know he is extended, I wrote a complaint letter to the organization, ha. I want him G-O-N-E GONE GONE GONE. I think we both agree that he should be gone as his track record shows he is not deserving of an extension, but we probably both agree that the Dolphins are not that kind of organization that will cut loose with the GM after showing such faith with the extension. So what can we do but hope he drafts better and evaluates Free Agents better. You live with what you got, as the saying goes.

Situational irony: The disparity of intention and result; when the result of an action is contrary to the desired or expected effect, as in when you expect your wedding to be beautiful and without a hitch and instead a huge storm rolls through destroying everything.
