I know a lot of people like Dan Williams but I think Terrence Cody looks more dominant. Sure his weight might be an issue but he should be hard to move. He reminds me of Shaun Rogers. Anyone else think the same or can someone give me reasons why Dan Williams would be a better choice?
If we could get Cody in the second I'm all for it if not then cam Thomas in the third
I don't think Williams or Cody are likely. I think they like Soliai on the first two downs. What they're looking for is a third down NT. I think that was why there is/was reported interest in Baker. He provides something that we don't have in Soliai.
I think both Williams and Cody fail to provide that something different. My guess is that Odrick is much higher on their board than Williams. And I'm not even sure if Cody is on their board at all.

Dan Williams is a 3 down NT who really only shined one year. He did a amazing job tho. Terrence Cody is 2 down NT. This guy can straight dominate the run game and take two blockers every play. I love Cody and I am not as concerned with his weight as others.

I like Cody, but as already stated not in the 1st. If he's there at 2 and no other stud has fallen to us then sure. He's a solid run stuffer. Move starks in the middle on 3rd down and we're set.

I think they like Jeff Owens.

His weight "might" be an issue as a professional, but it is with virtual certainty an issue with Bill Parcells. It's difficult to overstate how much he doesn't like fat players. His average acquired NT with the Jets, Cowboys, and Dolphins was 6'2" and change and like 307lbs. Drafting Cody wouldn't involve him dropping 10 or so pounds and being pushed to stay that way. He would have to radically rebuild his body.
Dan Williams has his own problems. The guy is wildly inconsistent, and was nowhere until this season. One of Parcells other "things" is someone who performed in college, with emphasis on three and four year quality starters.

I think you're grossly overstating Williams' abilities. I definitely don't see him as a 3-down lineman in the NFL, and I don't see him as dominant against the run. At the right time, he's worth consideration. But, I wouldn't consider him before the 2nd - even if we trade down.

I don't think Dan Williams is a 3 down DT at all. He offers no pass rush whatsoever.
I think given the way Nolan's defence will look, that Miami doesn't look at NT until at least round 4.
I am the sweat not the swagger.

Mike Neal.
The guy has the strength base and athleticism they like. He's got a frame that they can add some weight to as well.

I never said Williams would dominate the run game.

You said Miami won't look at NT until the 4th rd. Who do you think they are looking at there?

Just reading this thread and was gonna mention him.
Kudos.

I really like Geno Atkins the more I see of him.

I like the idea of them doing something like this, finding a Jeff Zgonina type guy who can do a whole bunch of things rather than is only a NT.

I think you're right on Solai..and I think their 3rd down NT is none other than a combo of Starks and/or McDaniel...both very strong, big and quick...Langfor and Merling can play ends on 3rd.
