Pennington and the word elite should never be used in the same sentence.....He had a good season considering his limitations. Had we not introduced the wildcat and got a surprisingly good performance on defense.....he's the QB of a team that doesn't hit .500 and that runner up thing never happens. He may have led this team.....but it's not like he carried it.
NO. I am already working on saving the cash to buy one (DeLorean) http://www.delorean.com/ and then all I need is some help to build the flux capacitor. However, I will NOT being going back to make anyone draft Ryan. Rather I will be going back to kidnap Marino during one of his goofy isotoner commercials ala Ace Ventura and bring him back to save us. I am sure he will cooperate and understand that he's got a better destiny with us now than with Jimmy Johnson and will agree to be brought ..... BACK TO THE FUTURE!
Warner definitely had a nice year and when he gets time and receivers can pick you apart. Still if the strategy was to pick up a 35 year old QB in FA you'll be picking one up every two to three years. Chad Pennington had a nice year but it certainly wasnt elite. The very fact that we announced that Henne would be the starter in 2010 immediately following his season proves he's not elite.
Chad was the runner up to the MVP, top 5 in passer rating, and without him we win five less games, regardless of the D or the wildcat. That is an elite year. Henne takes over for him once Henne is better. I have read that Henne was declared the starter in 2010, but have only seen it sited as a unnamed Armondo source. Regardless, that speaks more to the hopes we have for Henne than is a knock on Pennington. Much like the Brees, Rivers situation. Fine though, list Chad as a good or average QB. My point still stands. It is easier to get a good QB than a good LT in free agency.
I'm not sure I can handle another thread like this, I may have to avoid the main forum until after Sunday's game.
Ryan looks like he is the real deal ,but long has not been bad at all,I think bill is still having nightmares for not picking him.
