that is friggin WEAK! this game is intended to be a series. its a giant, "to be continued." not a one and done. it shouldnt take half a decade to put out a 4 hour game. i love this series, and am seriously disappointed by this weak management.
Agreed, but I think you are missing the maint point. Next Gen?? Already? The PS3 and 360 were supposed to be good for something like 10 years no? At the end of the day, it is gonna be a $400 purchase every 3-4 years with these damned consoles.
i think it'll be at least 2012 or 13 minimum before you see a new console (minus Wii HD if that's real). Nintendo is the best at reselling the same **** to the same people. There's just no real reason for a new console atm. The graphics aren't far enough behind PC yet to start the whole "PC it 10x better" arguement.
I think the motion controllers Sony and Microsoft are working on are actually going to extend the life of their consoles by a couple of years.
What's the HDtv adoption rate at right now? How many people who own 360's or PS3's don't even use at least component connections? I just don't see it making any sense to release a new console any time in the next 3 years (if even 4).
I think when the economy rebounds that is one area that is going to explode. HDtv's are so cheap now. For $1200 you can get yourself one hell of a tv.
Wasn't there a rumor though that the new XBox360 motion controller is going to need a new console? Same 360, just with necessary hardware to interpret the motion controls of the controller?
well, they said in 4 or 5 years in the article right? i think thatd put the 360 over 8 years...and things like this usually get pushed back. so i think we're looking in the realm of 10 years anyway when its all said and done. and Gears is a 360 exclusive. theres no way a new Sony system comes out in the next 5 years, when they've barely tapped into the potential of the current one. so we're talking just xbox here, and i still dont buy it. which further angers me, so now we're talking no Gears 3 for like 5 or 6 years!...bastards!!!
Releasing a brand new console would be suicide for Sony or Microsoft. M$ hasn't milked the profits of the 360 yet and Sony has failed to even get outta the red with the PS3.
I remember hearing rumors about Gears 3 in 2010... Gears 1 was released in 05, Gears 2 in 08, and I think it's likely Gears 3 in 11. I doubt MS wants to release a new console, especially with the economy (which, who knows where it'll be) and there's no way in hell Sony is going to release a ps4 anytime soon. Plus we'll have to see how OnLive does in the market. Isn't that out this winter?
