    from the above article

"I want Bill on the practice field when he can," Sparano said. "I want his eyes. This guy has done it. I don't have that kind of ego. That's not me."

Sparano doesn't mean that he lacks the ego to be a head coach, but rather that he lacks the level of insecurity to worry about being overshadowed.

    Your thoughts....

I like the fact that he will ask for Parcells' advice and input. He isn't going to lie that he can do everything and knows all. As a rookie head coach I like the fact he's asking one of the best head coaches ever and not just guessing his way through things.

i said this a week or so ago that i think bill will help sparano and ireland he will give them advice and he will help guide them, and once they really get the hang of what they are doing bill will become less and less of a figure

I like that Tony Sparono is taking the Bare Knuckles approch. I lso like that he knows that Bill Parcells is a great coach and takes advantage of his advice.

bran I just love your avatar! Had to get that out of the way.

Sparano is perfect for what this team needs, especially in this situation. Bill Parcells will have a vested interest in Sparano and Ireland's success, so both will receive a lot of what we want from BP: teaching and guidance. Who better? I really like everything about Sparano, his toughness, his lack of ego when it comes to being taught and knowing when to ask for advice. The last 2 HC's we've had were so egotistical as to be afraid to learn from those surrounding them. Saban too egomaniacal, and Cam had the opposite problem ; a lack of self confidence, he was afraid to aks. Saban was too proud to ask.

I get the sense Sparano isn't afraid of anything, and that is what these players need to see in our HC. The players need to know its the HC's way or the highway, and he has made that clear, with Parcells' full support. The perfect situation and environment needed to turn around a franchise in such miserable shape as we were/are.

I am with whatever helps this team succeed. I think that Sparano will actually be a success here even when/after Parcells leaves after his three year period or whatever.
