Just saw them talking on the NFL Today and Boomer gave that great quote. Do any Jet fans even believe this? Their offense is worse than ours IMO.
Jets lose to the playoff-bound Steelers in Pittsburgh without their best player and they are suddenly behind a team they destroyed in Week 1?
In case you didn't notice, the Steelers were without their TWO best defensive players. Had they played Nacho wouldn't have even sniffed the end zone.
It wouldnt be any fun, if you didnt pump the jest fans full of hope before deflating them. Sent from my iPhone
REVIS is out for season, torn ACL from the game. Glad no Dolphin hit him on the play, and it simply gave out on him. Big Loss for Jets.
I am wondering when the Tannehill/Sanchez comparisons start Obviously you would be comparing Sanchez's rookie year to Tannehill's. It's funny, because Nacho didn't have much to throw to either, unless you consider Cotchery, Chansi Stuckey and Brad Smith top flight receivers. He did have Keller. He did not have a runner like Bush though.
You don't think Bush could do the same, assuming he stays healthy? Plus he can catch the ball. I'd rather have Bush. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Well, after 3 games it hasn't translated into the stats. Sanchez had a far better 3 game start. But I do not doubt that THill can finish the season with better statistics than Sanchez had his rookie year. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Hey Bam, but having good WR helped Sanchez the first few years... A still young B. Edwards, a veteran and smart Cotchery, Stuckey and Brad Smith... What does THill have now in comparison???
He didn't get Edwards until several games into his rookie season. Cotchery led the team with 57 receptions. Edwards was 3rd with 35. Their other wideouts had 14 and 11 catches. They did not have good receivers. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Saw the highlights of the game on NFL network and the first play they showed was the fake punt that Tebow ran. I hate that this is what the NFL has become. It's an insult to both the jets and Dolphins. They also showed the play were Tebow got hit in the helmet with the ball and broke the play down.
Stupid I saw them break it down also. Tebow did not look in time/ or Sanchez threw it to early. Sanchez dumped it to early to me.
I agree. Pass thrown too soon. The announcers jumped all over Tebow though, saying he has to read blitz and turn around quicker. Even if he did, the pass was not in a place where he could have caught it. At best it bounces off his face mask instead of the helmet. One of many poor throws on Sanchez's part. I'm still trying to figure out why they even had Tebow running that route....
I would say those guys that Sanchez had early in the year, are better than the top 3 the Phins have , no???
Jets just signed RB Jonathan Grimes from the Houston practice squad. Grimes averaged over 4 ypg this preseason... I saw him play 4 years at college, he was a great running back. I wish him success as an individual in New York.
I dont think so. I don't know how Bess and Harline became hot garbage to you guys. Are they great? No. But I've seen both burn the Jets with Chad Henne throwing the ball. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Agreed. My point was Sanchez didn't either in his rookie year, unless you think Jericho Cotchery was a #1 receiver. Or Braylon Edwards, who got traded to them because he couldn't hold onto a pass If Miami continues to pound the ball, those guys will eventually get open on a regular basis. Well the issue is not really with Bes and Hartline, as RR stated, but outside of these two we have no other wideout that CAN get open or CAN the ball... and Bess is really a Slot man, as for Harline, he is great at catching sideline and curl routes, but not very threatning across the middle nor deep...
We definitely seem to be following the Ravens/Jets from '09 mentality. Dominate in the running game, play good defense, and ease Tannehill along and allow him to do more as time goes on. I mean, it's working too. We SHOULD be 2-1 and without the 5 minute stink-fest in Houston that game would have been more competitive as well.
I think comparing Sanchez and Tannehill is relatively pointless at the moment. Sanchez's issue (perhaps much like Henne's) is that he hasn't demonstratively improved much after 3 years in the league. Give Tannehill 2-3 years and see if he gets over the hump.
As much as they were in 2009. In other words, they will need a ton of breaks. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
The way this season is going, I am not counting any team out until Week 17 is over. I don't think it's likely NYJ is playoff bound, but who knows.
