I agree. I just think there are several reasons to give him the benefit of the doubt. He flashed enough to produce a couple of strong statistical games early and then faded. It could have been the rookie wall, the hamstring injury acting up and robbing him or power and explosion, the lack of conditioning you'd expect from a rookie who had no off-season, or whatever. You have a young player who you know is at least capable of putting up numbers against good NFL defenses (Houston finished 4th against the run last year) going into a new system that is a better fit for him. He's only had one season so it's too early to claim he has durability issues. At this point there's no reason to bail on the guy. I know some people didn't like him coming out so they're at least sub-consciously going to be rooting against him, but on a purely objective level, I see much more to be positive about than negative. He is no sure thing. And I didn't agree with him being one of the top tandems at this point, but he is still a potential guy that has shown enough that he could potentially develop into part of one of the top tandems. IMO what he's shown so far does not warrant all the negativity about him in this thread.

I don't see how you can look at Daniel Thomas' play and then know the circumstances and really dismiss him. He very clearly had upside, and reasons for not consistently hitting it. People have repeated the zone rushing thing over and over, but it's not just what he did in college. I think the way the Dolphins ran the offense illustrated it to a degree- Zone plays were a minority of the Dolphins run game(because they couldn't execute them worth a ****, not because Daboll chose it), but the majority of the times Thomas got his numbers called and his successful plays both.

Got some good inside info that he's a beast Rafs..Potential is there..

A very good move to see a quick flash of hi level athleticism from a big man, is the spin move, it takes talent to execute, Daniel Thomas has an excellent spin move, his feet are excellent, his hands are good, I've seen him on film play some Qb, he's big, he's worth seeing this one thru.
