One week away. Just one week. That's it. Seven days and change.

The clock is on for those anxiously awaiting the 2008 NFL Draft's commencement. In this week's release of KFFL's NFL Draft Grapevine we look at potential surprises in the top five picks.

Obviously, anything could happen, but we are going to address scenarios that appear somewhat likely.

interesting, as it gets closer and closer, I see fewer and fewer drafts that dont have us taking a Long first...

the mock drafts move like lemmings from one to the next. everyone is just going with the fact that we offered a contract to jake long. its just safer for them to say jake then have to explain why its someone else. As for Chris that was the consensus before Jake was announced so everyone is going back to him because of the pillar of defense comment

Although to be fair there arent that many other choices; Ryan (public statements make it appear he's not on the list), Gholston (for some reason people dont buy it, dont know why), Dorsey (3-4 scheme doesnt fit and no PR during this entire time)

Wouldn't surprise me if it were Gholston... Personally I think it's between both Longs and Gholston...

I dont really think Gholston is in the mix, I think the Longs and Dorsey are superoir talent, and statements made by BP and Ireland would lead me to believe hes on the outside right now. Anything can happen though.

Two me its Ryan, Gholston or Jake. I just dont buy Ireland and Parcells passing on a franchise QB. If they do however, they almost have to take Jake to protect Beck. Its weird because I think Gholston would be Parcells favorite player but I have him as the third choice. Parcells loves those pass rushing LBs

It will be interesting to see if the Raiders pass on Chris Long, if McFadden is also still on the board.

Yes they SHOULD take Dorsey or Ellis, but if Chris Long is available at 4 they would be fools to pass on him. He would fill a big need, and with his dads history would be a fan fave right from the start. Natural pick. If they would be stupid enough to pass on him for McFad I would actually feel sorry for Raiders fans.
