God can we ever JUST have a friendly debate about things? Some of you self professed "Guru's" or "Football experts" need to stop personally attacking other posters, its that simple. We are NOT all going to think the same thing, nor feel the same way about topics, thats why its a debate. Leave the personal attacks and the belittling out of it, please.

Raf - I respect your opinion, I don't agree with it, but it seems pointless to me going back and forth back and forth, especially for a guy who isn't coming out.

Not sure if that's aimed at me, but I'm not a self professed anything I'm afraid. And who am I attacking?

Actually I do. There's quite a lot of similarities; not only in terms of the system they played in college but also in terms of how they profile as NFL QBs. In my mind, Brees neatly illustrates both the early issues and eventual benefits a guy like Harrell brings to the table. He's not the kind of QB you draft as a rookie or second year starter (unless you actually run the spread which is why I believe he'd be a very decent fit in KC). Brees struggled mightily making the transition and if he hadn't played lights out in his 4th year, he'd probably be a backup or worse by now. Remember that San Diego drafted Phillip Rivers that year because they had come to the conclusion that Brees just didn't cut it. So you need to give a guy like Harrell time, probably more time than you would give to other passers, and you need to put him in the right system.

I agree Ven. If Harrell goes into the right system, he's going to be a starter. He has the best feet of any QB in the draft and can make every throw.

I can't help but wonder if there aren't a couple of scouts in New England thinking, gee, we really like Kevin O'Connell but damn, why didn't we wait another year?

I just deleted two posts that were not even close to being on topic.

There is never a good reason to have a post specifically framed to insult another member.

Please read the TOS concerning personal attacks. There will be no more warnings.
