It's the surrounding cast and how they deal with her that I find funny. By the way The Event ratings dropped 20% after 1 episode. Not a good sign for it's future.
I haven't seen any episodes of The Event but judging by the previews/commericals on TV and everything I had read about it before it aired it just screamed mini-series or a 1 season show. It kind of reminds me of all the hype Flash Forward got before that quickly feel off a cliff due to numerous reasons.
I couldn't watch that show for more than 5 minutes away no matter who the cast is. As for The Event, as I've said before, after Lost my mind needs time to heal. I don't currently care for another show that mind****s you with tons of mysteries.
I'm still pissed at Fox for Firefly and Drive. Thankfully ABC gives me my regular Nathan Fillion fix now.
TV has sucked overall the past decade and it wouldn't surprise me for it to continue into this decade as well.
I disagree with that statement. The Sopranos, The Wire, Curb, Arrest Development, Lost, 24, Mad Men, Dexter, Breaking Bad, The Shield..... I could go on and on. I think TV now was much better than in the 90s by far. Good actors/actresses aren't shying away from being on TV shows like they were back then and more money and focus is being put into the production of the shows.
Not a chance. Critically acclaimed shows happened much more frequently this past decade than any other. The conversion to digital, breaking down the barriers between movie and tv (ie: Martin Scorcese directing a tv episode...unheard of.) with actors, writers and directors.
By the way The Event got a 2nd try.....*insert raspberry here*. Nikita has been strong for all of it's episodes so far. Kudo's to CW for that since I thought they were only interested in twilight girls these days. If you haven't downloaded or checked out Lost Girl on youtube your missing out. Low budget canuck show that's far better then a lot of the tripe that are this years freshmen crop. Networks dropped the ball this year. They must have known though as they have double the midseason shows ready for 2011.
I can buy him as a psychopath, but he comes off as a guy who should be playing a lackey character, not the boss. He just doesn't come off as a forceful or scary guy at all. He's the excellent supporting character. Or a creepy/goofy lead role type.
i like the event. there has been a good amount of tension throughout. the production isnt cheesy either. but, withholding information like it does is a gimmick. reminds me of listening to a radio show where the host keeps telling about a topic he is going to get into. two breaks later they tell you and feel like someone just suckered your time
Well all I can say at this point is THANK GOD Dexter, Stargate Universe, Big Bang Theory and Castle are back. So has anyone checked out Lost Girl yet? If you were ever a fan of Buffy I think you'll dig this show.
the only one of those i watch is dexter. i think the only comedy with new episodes i watch is "its always sunny in philly"
Ok I'm declaring it. Falls new shows are DOA. I can't recall it ever being this bad. The networks are panicking to and paying out much larger money for bigger talent's best projects next fall. R.I.P. Fall 2010 TV
Yeah I agree I already quit on No Ordinary Family, Running Wilde, $%^# My Dad Says and almost out on Boardwalk Empire (which everyone seems to love). The other new shows really don't seem very good to me from the previews and word out mouth except The Event, but I figure it's going to turn into another 'Flashfoward' and I should just wait until the DVDs are out.
The only shows I've seen lately that are new are 'Louie' (FX) and Law and Order Los Angeles (NBC). Nothing else new in the fall interests me. I have Boardwalk Empire DVR'd but haven't had the time or much interest in seeing it yet.
I just can't believe my top shows out of the freshmen crop is a purely canadian show and a CW show. Hell is literally freezing over. The only show that 'might' have a chance if it ups the quality a bit is Outsourced as it's fairly unique. Or perhaps it's cause I like the nearly mute girl on that show. She makes me laugh the few times she's on the screen.
Yeah I saw the first episode of Outsourced and knew it was only a matter of time until it gets canned. The idea is actually an interesting one and something, especially in this economy, people might relate to. However the jokes are obvious and not funny. I don't even remember much about the first episode except the lead guy was a Ryan Reynolds wannabe and there was a joke about someone's name being Manmeat. Even shows I used to love like The Office isn't nearly as good as it used to be. It's kind of depressing that there's not really 1 particular TV show that's a must watch live other than Dexter.
I watched my last No Ordinary Family last night. The show blows. I like Chase and The Event so far. Chase is really good. The Event has my attention for now, but I feel like I'm being strung along. They better pick it up or I'm gone.
With Outsourced, the minute the blonde Aussie chick showed up, I left the room. Now she may or not be the guy's love interest (now or later) but damn, I don't even care to give it another chance. How much shenanigans can go on in that setting anyway?
