FinatikmoderatorOPAccording to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have hired Steve Marshall as their new offensive line coach.Marshall was with the Jets alongside new Dolphins coordinator Chan Gailey. He has also worked with the Packers, Browns, and Texans, as well as some time in the college ranks.
Lots of people will tell you what they think about you and what you shouldn't and should do. Not everyone's thoughts are worth consideration. Don't take criticism from anyone who you wouldn't also go to for advice.
I dont know him well enough to like or dislike the hire. I do dislike the Gailey hirebthough so bringing in his people is slightly concerning, though also probably necessary for him.

Chan Gailey’s offenses usually had solid to good OLs. On that count I am mildly optimistic.
The_Dark_Knightforum_veteranAs important as it is for head coaches to have the coordinators they want, it’s equally important for the coordinators to have the position coaches they want. Often, coordinators reach out to position coaches they’ve had on their staff before as they already know and understand exactly what the coordinators are looking for.
How many ex-Patriots coaches has Flores brought on board, particularly on the defensive side? It only makes sense.
As a head coach, Gailey sucked, no doubt about it. As a coordinator however, he has had success. Hell, Buddy Ryan was a joke of a head coach but every team he was ever DC for was phenomenal defensively, so I’m in wait and see mode. Some say Gailey is old school and outdated. What would someone call Fitzpatrick? Old school and outdated lol

Dorfdadforum_veteranMeh hope I’m wrong but this team got worse this offseason from a coaching standpoint. We’re back to square one with offensive schemes. Gailey such a bad move IMHO.
