In the light of yesterday's big news story involving a Henne family. The Falcon? Balloon Boy? Attic Boy?
Yes, he was...Dan The Man! In all seriousness, I get your point Tone E. I just saw someone had "Henne Given Sunday" as their location under their avatar the other day. Thought that was pretty cool. I like that.
How about no nickname? Does everyone have to have a nickname? I mean c'mon...I get the douche chills everytime I hear someone say "The Sanchize".
Chad 2.0...(?) Henne-owitzer...(Nah!) C.Heezy...(get it?) There's really nothing...He's just so bland and pale (wait a minute!) White Boy! (go white boy, go white boy, go!)
Actually... Dan 'THE MAN' Marino had a nickname. Here's one of many magazine covers with it: I am surprised that some of you dont remember that. For Henne, he's got to play this entire year very well and actually prove he's the QB of the future and not just the QB for now ala Damon Huard (remember when he went like 5-0 or somethng?) or Fiedler etc. He needs to play well and improve. He needs to pull victory from the jaws of defeat a couple of times and last but not least get us into the playoffs. Then, and only then, will he be worthy of a nickname.
I love what Henne has done in his two starts. I'm THRILLED with his play so far. But two things: I don't see the need for a nickname. Let him build his name with great play and his name will stand alone. Secondly, two games of solid play hasn't netted him the right to a nickname just yet. I like this one though: Chad FREAKIN' Henne. To add, thanks for finally giving us a QB who can be the man for us for a decade (still remains to be seen, but I'm optimistic.)
Give him time, for me he looks all the world like one of the villian cops from the Police Academy Series, one of the ones who went to the Blue Oyster: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdbt-sx5MDc"]YouTube - Blue Oyster Bar[/ame] He looks like the Dude in the yellow shirt: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTJMerul33E"]YouTube - The Blue Oyster Bar[/ame] (that should get this thread locked)
The Rifleman - Chuck Connors The Rifleman - Chad Henne ?? Bet the NFL would have cow over any nickname with weaponry involved
