Okay what about the fact that we are stuck with him for atleast two more seasons that you do not understand? No matter how much you ***** and moan, that fact isnt going to change. Ross loves him, so we have no choice but to hope it gets better. I have no idea why youre trying to argue this, i understand Gase hasnt produced, but hes the coach, and there wont be any coaching change this upcoming offseason and i dont think there will be one the following either.

He's had his starting QB 1 season out of the 2 1/2 we've played. Look at the Colts and Manning- they were 14-2 with their quarterback, 2-14 in the "Suck for Luck" sweepstakes winners without him. Having your starting QB does matter in the NFL....probably more than any other position.

If RT could have gone today and we ran the identical offense with identical play calls, he hits Amendola on that deep route and likely hits Parker/Grant on their two deep misses. That's at least 17 points (Amendola wouldn't have scored) and makes today's conversation completely different. Now, RT also would have been sacked a few more times when Oz felt the pressure and slid up in the pocket....so maybe he takes a strip sack and we're here cussing him some as well. But the kid connects on his deep passes and that's what this offense is built for.

Despite not being the long-term answer, we desperately missed Tannehill the past three weeks.

That's a laugh. Oz looked lost in pressure. Terrible quarterback.

By pressure, you're referring to the stretch where both our starting tackles were out and the DE's were getting to him basically untouched. That's not pressure...that's QB assassination. Somehow he still threw a lot of those away. If a QB is feeling pressure within the first 1.5 seconds, you can't fault him. Newton or Wilson are the only two in the league that has a chance under those circumstances.

He looked lost like any other quarterback. It wasn't magic for him to throw it away. Only a few times could he even attempt to make a decent throw while being hit. He is so bad at everything! Could barely even throw a 5 yard pass accurately today. Should have been benched for David Fales. One of the worst quarterbacking displays I have seen. Even with time he was bad.

Did RT play vs NE? What was that stat line?

Did RT play vs Cincy? What was that stat line?

If those LATEST two games is what we can expect from these two, give me Rizzi and Osweiler.

Well, cherry picking games is one way to further an ignorant agenda....I guess.

I mean, the Packers are 3-4. Rodgers had a 74 "stat line" against Buffalo and an 89 "stat line" against the Pats. Rodgers sucks.

Maybe it would be a good idea for the Mods to make a Forum for Teams *****ing and keep the Dolphins posts news related?
That way those who don't want to hear the negativity can stay out of those forums?

I know I need a place to ***** and moan or I'd need to up my medicine!

I have (insert several USN adjectives) quit coming here because the the negativity aimed at the Head Coach. Well, I remember an old quote from a long time ago [I think it came from Ditka] - "You can't make chicken salad out of chicken $#!+!"

Availability is ability But Tannehill, for whatever reason is right where he belongs...on the bench. Next year, Gase will be where he belongs...a position coach (probably in college).

The other problem is, when healthy, Tannehill is the best QB currently on the Dolphins.

I'd definitely be on board with John Harbaugh as our coach. Don't even think about bringing in Flacco however. That guy has been a below average QB for the last several years.

    Question:

Why did we hire a OC youngest HC in the league who was the OC of the 3-13 Bears that year. Gase was a bad hire and he's got to hit the road Jack!

What do you want Gase to do when he’s down to his 2nd string QB, and the entire 2nd string O-Line, and also your spark on offense (not to mention, Grant and Parker going down during the game)? Please, tell me how today could have gone any different. It was a 2 point game in the 3rd quarter, and I was utterly shocked Miami had it that close at that point.

You all need to realize blowing it up every 3-4 years is not always the answer. Gase is a good coach.

    Be better.

Let's not forget, Brock is "his guy" just like Cutler was "his guy" and THill is "his guy". Gase hand-picked all of them and has stuck with THill through all the questions. OL and WR injuries blow, but OL play across the league is iffy - gotta find a way to make it work. Defense is garbage. Culture? Meh, we still in year 3 have Gase and the staff feuding with players.

Tell me why Gase is a good coach. What can I hang my hat on? What progress has the team as a whole shown? How are we better now than we were 2.5 years ago?

Blowing it up every 3-4 years absolutely is the answer if you find the right people. Yeah, that's a tricky thing to do, but it beats being **** every year. Teams can go from **** to good very fast in today's NFL man, as long as you get the right guy. Just sticking with a guy to stick with a guy? Bleh. So the question is, right now, what is making Gase special?

Brock is “Gase’s guy” to be his backup QB. Brock was pretty good as a backup QB for 2 games. Any backup QB that starts for as long as Brock has is gonna look bad. They’re a backup for a reason. As for Cutler, not sure what people were expecting from a guy who was signed in August.

What’s the difference with Gase? The team keeps fighting when they’re down, losing guys, whatever it may be. Had this game been under Philbin, Green Bay would’ve won by a lot more, and I doubt it would have ever been a one possession game in the second half.

Then he shouldn't have let himself be convinced. Either he had enough good opinion to think he could work, or not enough chutzpah to tell the FO to get a real QB for that spot.

It was a good bet before the season that a backup would likely see good time on the field. Rolling with THill was going to be a gamble, and the best the team could come up with was Brock Assweiler, the guy who a team gave up draft picks to be rid of and couldn't buy a look in Cleveland.

I'm sorry if im just not super excited for year 4 of "maybe better than Philbin."

I guess I don't understand the flak Gase is getting for Brock. Brock is a vet that knows the system. He's a backup for a reason, that reason being that he isn't effective for an entire season due to his limitations. If he could be effective over a full season, he'd be a starter.

From my point of view, we should have drafted a QB high either in 2017 after Tannehill went down (and you KNOW how often I said that here) or in 2018 at latest. The flak Gase gets from me for both Cutler and Brock is precisely that he believed so much in Tannehill that he wasn't willing to create some serious competition at the QB position. Draft is a crap shoot so you can't be certain you got the right guy, but Tannehill is only an average QB so at very minimum you create competition at that position.

You do NOT just have a vet backup in Moore or Osweiler when Tannehill is the best QB on your roster. And I don't care how often Gase likes to talk down to non-pro's about their lack of knowledge. First, there are a lot of HC's that would have played that differently, and second we're seeing evidence his decisions on this are biting us in the ***. Gase should have lobbied hard for the FO to draft a QB high. For me, that's where the flak is coming from. Can't speak for others.

I said it last year and I'll say it again, I wish this FO would have at least brought in CK to look at. Maybe they would have fallen in love with him, maybe not, but at least they kicked the tires. I doubt he would have played much worse than Cutler and he would have (potentially) the system learned by this season's beginning.

Saying that, and putting aside all the conspiracy theories, I do wonder why he hasn't been signed by another team. I mean, look at the Bills for example...he's 100% better than anything they have fielded at QB this year. There are other teams, including the Dolphins right now, that could use a QB like him. If I had to take a guess, my guess would be that he's just not mentally into the game anymore. He went from a pretty big dude to scrawny and his GF has turned him into a SJW. I think football hasn't been high on his list for awhile and teams see this and shy away.
