Can you explain this one please? I didn't get to see the first half, so did I miss something? Or, are you just throwing nonsense out there?

We must be watching two different games, because there was a 1 point difference before the Jazz hit shot after shot after shot at the end of OT. The Lakers had every chance to win this game even with Turiaf ejected and they failed to sieze it. The Jazz got hot at the line and the Lakers had no response.

Should it have gone to OT? Nope. Did the Lakers outperform the Jazz in OT only to have the game stolen? Nope. The Jazz won it in OT.

I must have hit a nerve.

The Jazz are the worst road team in the playoffs, if I'm the Lakers I'm not worried at all unless Kobe cant go.

Any time a game goes into overtime, no one got creamed. If anything, Utah should really look at themselves and wonder what happened because they didn't close at the end of the half and started choking themselves at the end of the fourth quarter. Considering the free throw disparity between the two teams today (45-25) and the fact that L.A. couldn't get anythign from the line to drop, Utah needs to be breathing a sigh of relief right now that they even got it into overtime.

I expect a more evenly called game in L.A. Today's game was bad.

As for the Miami stuff, everyone knows Wade is a baby. :hi5:

    He is swatting a fly.

And, yes, I believe that guy should be injured badly. Just because he is an idiot doesn't mean all of the Utah fans are idiots.

If Kobe Bryant left the Lakers earlier this year after all that he has done for them, and he came back with a new team...he wouldn't get booed ferociously? Get over it.

Kobe Bryant didn't have a duaghter who was sick and stuck in a place where doctors know nothing more than the basics. This may shock you, but not all athletes are about the money. Fisher took LESS to go to L.A. so that he can have his family near doctors who could treat his daughter. And before anyone thinks about saying it was an excuse for Derek to go back to L.A. Think about this. No one expected L.A. to do anything this year, and the other viable option for Fisher, was the Knicks. The god awful Knicks.

The man is nothing but class and for fans to do what they have done to him is mind boggling. We aren't talking about someone like Shaq, or Kobe or even Baron Davis who kick and scream until they get their way, or demand to go elsewhere. I can get behind and support booing for that.

But not for Derek, and especially not considering what he did for Utah in one year and why he left. To me, Utah fans are the worst fans in the league. Barnone.

    "Neither do I!"
(5 points to whoever recognizes that particular Simpsons reference.)

Fair enough. Agree to disagree it is.

Utah's an incredible home team. And more to the point, though LA was considered a definite favorite in this series, there's really not that much difference between the two teams, in terms of quality. I thought from the start that this would be a 7 game series, so 2-2 shouldn't be surprising.

Agreed. And I don't think this was the exception.

Hopefully Kobe's back gets better because it was a huge factor in his poor 4th and OT play. And that Turiaf call was just garbage. And this home-court thing is pretty bizarre if you ask me (especially for the Celtics). Home court advantage just got more important in these semifinals.

    Stop..just STOP.

First, am I the only one that noticed, Kobe's back only seemed to hurt him when he got beatch-slapped? Everytime he made a great play, his back was fine. He got absolutely schooled on a couple of plays and all of a sudden he needs a freakin wheelchair.

Turiaf will be lucky if he doesnt miss the next game also. There is absolutely no need for a foul like that in the NBA.. ZERO. That was an absolutely classless play.:tantrum:

Why stop when I shouldn't stop? I know people here hate the Lakers just like they hate the Patriots. But there's no need for me to stop arguing just because people here don't wanna hear anything defending the Lakers or in support. Heck, I see Heat comments in this thread and they aren't even in the playoffs!

Just because he doesn't show he's hurt about every play doesn't mean he's injured. Anyone who knows anything about sports medicine can see Kobe looked a lot slower as the game progressed and as the back started to stiffen up.

Turiaf went for the ball, his body collided with a small guard's body, the guard fell to the floor. I saw nothing classless about that play and they even shook hands afterwards to see if everyone's ok. If this was a Laker going down after a foul like that, I'm certain people won't be going "there is absolutely no need for a foul like that".

You must not watch the NBA because everyone in the league does it. I see Deron Williams arguing, I see Boozer arguing, I see Okur arguing and he even got a tech. Doesn't Tim Duncan always complain? Not every NBA player does that? Give me a break.

I play basketball and when I get random back spasms, that slows me down A LOT. I try to hide the facial expressions but sometimes you have to show the pain by wincing for exmaple.

Wait, so now you are saying he "Isnt" injured?

You are kindve fighting your own cause here bro.

Krybaby starts wincing in what..the second quarter? Is that when his back started to tighten as the game went on? If so, why was it that when he was making miraculous shots to send it into overtime he was miraculously without pain again? :confused2:

And as far as the Turiaf handshake, it was pretty obvious that Price wanting NOTHING to do with a handshake. The replay I saw (And that is ALL I saw btw was replay's on ESPN of any of it..and a disclaimer follows*) was that Price was pretty much calling Turiaf out. Of course Turiaf isnt a dirty player, but that was very very rough indeed. :wink2:

    * I realize that anything watched on ESPN hightlights should be taken with a grain of salt. I will refrain from any more comments on this as that is ALL I have witnessed of any of the NBA playoffs this year. :hi5:

I think you misread what I said. He's injured but he tries hard not to show it (i.e. cry out in pain and ask to go to the doctor's office). He's in pain but he's taking it like a man and not crying out over it. If you've ever experienced back spasms, you know they can come and go at times. When he was making those shots, he was in pain. That's why they're miraculous. A lesser man would've doubled in pain by then. Kobe might not be letting the pain get to him all the time, but it's there and it will and did continuously slow him down even if you try to fight it.

As for Turiaf, I just remember seeing a small and very brief, probably just a few seconds, shot of him shaking Price's hand a while later. They did argue for a bit I know that but I thought they patched it up.

When you get back spasms, come back to this thread and let us know how many shots you can make. ;) I think you can make a few but you'll miss a majority.

I find it amusing people don't believe Kobe's back injury (adding to his finger ligament tear that already needs surgery) had any impact on his performance. Though I figured the Laker haters would be out in force. Now I know how Yankee and even Red Sox fans feel.

Give me a break!! Tim Duncan trumps all in whining. If you watch an NBA game, clearly no fouls are ever committed. EVERYONE whines to the refs. If you say differently then you are full of it. Don't let your clear hatred of one team cloud your judgment

Impossible to watch a basketball game without seeing the above.

I find it hard to believe that the Portland Trail Blazers agree with every call?

Yeah, the talk around forums about Kobe's injury being a gimmick is ridiculous. It's just clueless talk.

Then again, I separated my shoulder in high school yet didn't need a wheel chair like my favorite player. :wink2:

they actually had a unbelievable low amount of technicals for arguing a call...most of the techs(like 6 all year:lol:) were from fights or almost....

i know everyone argues..but nobody complains as much as they do. every call they go whine..every call..every call..every call.

You could see that Kobe wasnt the same Kobe by just watching the game and comparing it to the previous ones. Last game he could take Ronnie Brewer and Kirilenko off the dribble and get to the hoop almost at will. He didnt have the same quickness in this game because of the back, and it showed.

And the Lakers cry a lot, not doubt, but no one beats the flopping and crying of the Spurs. Lakers are probably a close second though.

Reminds of watching warmups for the Bulls one day before they were on TNT or something this season and Nocioni was driving to the hoop, with no one guarding him in warmups, and yelling for a foul. He was practicing his crying in practice lol.
