Per Schefter, Seattle was awarded Ness off waivers. I know he had a lot of fans here. Personally I was hoping we'd slide him back on the practice squad. Will be interesting to see if he or Nolan Carroll has the better career.
Omar Kelly says eight teams put in claims for Ness. Apparently he was indeed viewed as a hot commodity.
You would think Defensive backs being our weak spot Ness would have had a chance of making the squad. Our Defensive backfield had better show up next week.
Nate Ness had one good quarter against Tampa Bay's third stringers and was horrendous against their second stringers. He wasn't going to magically transform our pass defense.
Seems like a case of 'he can't help us now, but he might really help us down the road'. Numbers game.
You can say that about most of our Cornerbacks in the Pre-Season. Vontae has shone but thats it. Losing Ness gives us even less depth if we need it. Plus those 8 teams Muck quoted as wanting him cant all be wrong.
Bummer, would have been nice to add him to the PS if we could. Apparently other teams see alot in him.
no those teams arent wrong but do you think maybe we just arent that bad. Rally where could he of had a spot? Some would argue R.Jones, N.Carrol and even J.Allen but I can garuntee u those guys would of had 10 teams put in waivers for them.
Exactly. No use crying over the waiver claims. We put Nolan Carrol out there and there would be 31 claims.
If Nate Ness was no different than any of our other corners this preseason, then why the gnashing of teeth over cutting a JAG?
Berardino was told only Seattle put in a claim for Ness. Perhaps we split the difference and go with four teams putting in a claim.
