My mvp for the game. Caused 3 incomplete passes 2 of which were in the end zone plus caused the fumble at the end to save another score(possibly the game as well).
Hopefully his light turns on. We saw it for two plays. I thought Carroll forced that fumble. Paul got the cred
Just back from the game.... what I saw from my seats, Ness was impressive. Maybe he makes the jump from the practice squad this year.
I think you're right, but Paul did have the presence to make the play on the ball and he was "quick" about it. I still think he will be the starter and NT on running plays. Starks is great, we all know that, but Paul is the space taker and on running downs I think he is in there.
Soliai forced the fumble against the Jets last season that was returned for a defensive TD. I would love to see him blowing up on the interior. Dotson made a big play inside tonight too thought he would have taken the hand off being unblocked he ran through and blew up the play
31 played well ness is lanky and 41 Hobbs anyone know a little more about him? padre gonna lean on you on that guy
I thought Soliai played really well. I think it was against mostly 2nd stringers though. I thought he played well last year too. He didn't make any dumb mistakes last year and had some great plays too. Ness did look good. I think he deserved to be in the next preseason game sooner to see what he can do against stiffer competition.
How bad was that game that we're calling Nate Ness the MVP? He probably won't even make the team. He's the sixth corner on a team probably carrying only five; Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, Will Allen, Nolan Carroll, Jason Allen. Camp tweets are going to be very interesting this week.
The first pass in the endzone he did nothing, the wr dropped a ball he should have caught. Ness also got burned early. But he played better late in the game.
Hobbs is a 4 year vet, played with Seahawks and last year with the Lions. He started 2 games last year with the Lions
Ness screwed up royally on that 1st play, he wasn't close. He played very well afterward, but that 1st one was so bad I can't call him the MVP. Paul Soliai did a great job, I was very impressed with him. Not only was he making plays, he was clogging the middle and taking on 2 guys. Just like a NT is supposed to do.
Soliai did look good but he didn't cause that fmble. Hopefully he really breaks out this year and allows us to move Starks back to DE, heard Starks wasn't terribly impressive at NT (I missed the first hour of the game because of Comcast, don't get me started! )
I wouldn't call Ness the MVP....but he did redeem himself and didn't let that first mis-play effect the rest of his game. He very likely could unseat Jason Allen on the depth chat because he plays BOTH saftey and CB....and IMHO seems a little quicker and more cover instinctive and we could get a low draft pick (6/7) for jason
Camp body Killah, the Lions secondary is atrocious and they still let him walk. As for Nate N, to me he is really green as a Cb and would be eaten alive during the regular season, he cannot allow himself to be turned around so easily, he looked lost tbh about things.
Ness left a wide receiver wide open down the sideline on 3rd and 15. The drive should have ended with a punt from deep on their end of the field.
