Idiots...one of the few reasons why I go to Radio Shack is to buy...oddball electronics parts, their "modern" stuff is normally overpriced or not what I want, they do not have so it is off to Office Depot or Office Max.

    The Shack
    The Hut

English is a dying language Nabo.

I worked there for about 2 years and they should change the name to Phone Shack. The pushed you to sell nothing but phones. I got so tired of trying to push phones on people.

"The Shack" was bought out in Canada by Circuit City and became "The Source". The one at the mall by my house is still in business but I don't know how. Circuit City went boobs up and I NEVER see anyone in that store.

Gotta see that. Funny how the studio owned by the #1 enemy of the common man buried that movie so deep you have to know to look for it, or you'd never know about it.

As soon as I saw the title, I knew what the name change would be.

When I think of 'The Hut' or 'The Shack', I think The Suck.

It's so ******ed how these companies choose to abandon a known brand and go with that stupid format of "The" with some sort of slang abbreviation thereafter. I mean, how lame can you get?

I stopped going there when they started playing 20 questions before they would check you out.

You been hanging out with Lucky? Coffee just went out my nose

    Anywho, much ado about nothing.

When I needed a ground strap and some dielectric grease to work on my computer, I went to RS. That is the ONLY type of reason I would go there.

Radio Shack sealed their fate with me when they were price-gouging during one of the Hurricanes a few years back. They were selling batteries at about 1000% mark-up... bastards.

Most of us here dislike RadioShack becuase of their lack of decent selection. We live in or near a large city, and there are much bigger stores with many more products to be had within a short distance of our house. For us, RadioShack is not much more than an electronics parts store we go to when we want something now instead of waiting for an internet store to ship to us.

But they are a multi-billion dollar company for a reason.

In less densely populated areas, RadioShack is typically the only real electronics store for MILES. Millions of Americans have never set foot inside a Best Buy type store. For those people, RadioShack is the best (or ONLY) option to buy consumer electronics.
