We take our little Hayley to get her eeg today, in Atlanta. Pray for us as we travel and for the test itself comes out clean and healthy. Thanks.
The Dr. said she showed some disturbance in her brain waves from the lights. He said this could mean nothing. He said he'll be able to really tell more when she has the mri. She has that on the 12th. IF she has any more seizures, she would be put on meds for 2 years. If not, as I said, the mri should tell him exactly what route to go. He said this could have been a one time thing, that it happens. That's what I pray for. Just keep her, and us, in your prayers. She's so little, it just breaks my heart to see her have to do these tests etc. She's a trooper tho'. Her dad said she slept through most of the eeg. She's a special little girl. (so's her sister) Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.
Hayley had her mri yesterday at St. Josephs childrens hospital in Atlanta. They said it would be a few days before they got the tests read and report to her Dr. She is so cool. She's so brave. All she wanted to know when we stopped to get her something to eat was if she had to do any more tests, or, was this one the last one. I pray it's the last one and there are no more seizures or anything. I'll let you know what we find out as soon as I can. Thanks for the continued prayers.
MoJo had her follow up visit with the nuero Dr. today. He talked about the EEG and said that the bright lights did show she had some seizure activity, but it didn't show physically during the test. The MRI was clear also. He said she had maybe, a 35% chance of doing it again. The Dr. and my son opted not to put her on meds, unless it happens again. If it does, she would be on the meds for 2 years. Please keep her, and us, in your prayers that she doesn't do it ever again. That was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed. Thanks to all of you-your super!
my mom used to have seizures and my brother has had them too. scary stuff indeed. here's to the best for you and yours.
Thanks guys. She's just so little and hyper, it was hard to see her totally un-responsive during that. It has honestly given me nightmares. It takes all I have not to hover over her. Now, this flu stuff scares because of both girls being in school. So far, there's been one case at our hospital. the woman was said to have been traveling alot and had been to Cancun etc. My daughter travels all over the country for AFLAC and that's got me scared for her. Sorry, it's 11:38 pm here, it's to quiet and I think to much.
I just saw this Debby and I'm so happy for you and your family that this is appearing to be a one time deal. My prayers are with you all. Ron
