I'd love if that was our draft. 1 (8) Ryan Tannehill | QB | Texas A&M 2 (42) Vinny Curry | DE | Marshall 3a (72) Jayron Hosley | CB | Virginia Tech 3b (73) Marvin McNutt | WR | Iowa 4 (103) Ladarius Green | TE | La.-Lafayette 5 (145) Markelle Martin | S | Oklahoma State 6 (196) Andrew Datko | OT | Florida State 7 (215) Jeff Fuller | WR | Texas A&M I'd love Mohamed Sanu in Rd. 2, but I think he'll be gone. If he is still there, take him instead of Curry and draft Bruce Irvin in the third instead of McNutt. My biggest wish is Tannehill. Am I in the minority with that? Feels like that sometimes. Please let me know what you think.
I want Tannehill and I don't want Tannehill at the same time. I think if Philbin believes then yeah grab him. But wouldn't it be nice to grab a stud in the top 10 that can be a real playmaker. : /
Yes and no. Sure it would be great to grab a player who could come in and contribute immediately. But I'm also looking at the future and because QB has become even more important than ever before, I think Tannehill is the right choice. There are people saying we should wait until next year to draft a QB (not blaming anyone here), but that seems to be the case every year. That means we'd never get one and that simply doesn't work. We've done it the last 13 years and now look where we are. That's my opinion.
Markelle Martin won't be there in the 5th. Not that I'd want a 1 career INT guy at all. McNutt is overdrafted by at least a full round...maybe 2 in this very deep WR draft. Waiting until the 6th to try and fill out the holes of this OL that gave up 52 sacks is also a bad idea. Especially when your picking a TE in the 4th when we got Fasano/Clay. Philbin wants more athletic OL. I fully expect a double dip at OL and WR this year. So basically I'm not liking your 3rd thru 5th round at all.
Thanks so far guys. Don't know much about Martin, to be honest. Any idea for another lineman? Where do you think Nate Potter might go? Regarding safety, what about Brandon Taylor? He's gonna be a third rounder, I think. Wouldn't mind him. But WR is more important for me right now. I'd love Ryan Broyles there, but don't know where he might go. Could be rounds 3-4.
