So my mom wants an mp3 player and she wants it now. It doesn't have to hold a ton, between 2-4GB should be plenty. She's not very tech savvy so it doesn't need more than basic playability. A big screen would be preferable so it's not a challenge to navigate. She will use it while gardening a lot, so anything that would get easily mucked up by dirt wouldn't be good. It would also be great if it would connect to her car, a Ford Escape. Here's a list detailing connectivity as of 2008. An iPod Touch with a good durable case would fill your requirements. It might be overkill with regards to free space and price, however, but it should work with Sync.
